Opens week as DNP
Gross-Matos (knee) did not practice Wednesday, Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Impact
Gross-Matos continues to work through a knee injury sustained Aug. 23 in the 49ers' preseason finale. He has yet to participate in practice since the injury and he was sidelined for the 49ers' Week 1 victory over the Jets on Monday. Gross-Matos will have two more chances to practice Thursday and Friday ahead of Week 2 against Minnesota.

Remains limited
Hufanga (knee) will be limited in practice Wednesday, Lindsey Pallares of the 49ers' official site reports.
Impact
Hufanga was limited in practice throughout Week 1 prep and ultimately sat out the 49ers' win over the Jets on Monday. As Week 2 work gets underway it's more of the same for the USC product who continues to be brought back slowly from the ACL tear he suffered toward the end of the 2023 campaign. Whether or not he'll be able to suit up this Sunday against the Vikings remains unclear, but more clarity will likely come Thursday or Friday. If ends up being unable to play, George Odum will be the likely candidate to fill in at safety again.

Limited Wednesday
Jennings (ankle) will be limited at Wednesday's practice, Lindsey Pallares of the 49ers' official site reports.
Impact
Jennings made a brief exit during Monday's win against the Jets, but he ultimately played 35 of 72 offensive snaps en route to five catches (on five targets) for 64 yards. The elevated target count may have been due to fellow WR Deebo Samuel getting more work in the backfield with Christian McCaffrey (calf/Achilles) sidelined. In any case, Jennings will join McCaffrey with a cap on his reps to kick off Week 2 prep, meaning the situation bears watching to see if the former will remain more involved Sunday in Minnesota, assuming he's active and the latter isn't.

To be limited Wednesday
Coach Kyle Shanahan said McCaffrey (calf/Achilles) will be a limited practice participant Wednesday, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Impact
Shanahan also noted that placing McCaffrey on injured reserve hasn't been considered because the running back was close to playing Week 1 against the Jets, per David Lombardi of The Athletic. While a strained calf has impacted McCaffrey since early August, Achilles tendinitis is the main hindrance for him at the moment. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported earlier Wednesday that McCaffrey seems like a long shot to suit up this Sunday at Minnesota, so if that comes to pass, the 49ers again will roll with RB Jordan Mason and WR Deebo Samuel out of the backfield.

Logs sack vs. Jets
Floyd recorded two total tackles (one solo), including 1.0 sack during Monday night's 32-19 win over the Jets.
Impact
Floyd got to Aaron Rodgers in the second quarter of Monday night's affair and was the only 49er to log a sack in Week 1. The 2016 first-round pick inked a two-year, $20 million contract with San Francisco after posting 32 total tackles, including 10.5 sacks, across 17 regular-season games with the Bills in 2023. Expect Floyd to be a force in San Francisco's pass-rush unit as the team travels to Minnesota in Week 2.

Leading tackler in win
Warner logged seven total tackles (five solo) during Monday night's 32-19 win over the Jets.
Impact
San Francisco's All-Pro linebacker picked up right where he left off last season, leading the 49ers in tackles Monday night. Warner earned his third first-team All-Pro selection in 2023, recording 132 total tackles, including 2.5 sacks, while also nabbing four picks and defending seven additional passes. Expect the BYU to continue wreaking havoc on opposing offenses and be an extremely reliable IDP option as the 49ers take on the Vikings in Week 2.

Facing uphill battle to play Week 2
McCaffrey (Achilles/calf) appears to be a "long shot" to play Sunday against the Vikings, sources tell Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Impact
Citing those familiar with the running back's injury, Rapoport suggests that the 49ers are leaning toward holding McCaffrey out for another week while he manages Achilles tendinitis in addition to a calf strain that dates back to early August. San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan suggested Tuesday that the Achilles issue is the greater concern for McCaffrey at this time and is requiring more treatment than the pulled calf. Though McCaffrey could still practice in some fashion this week and perhaps even take a questionable designation into Sunday, Jordan Mason looks to be the early favorite to receive another turn as the 49ers' lead back. Mason turned 29 touches into 152 yards and a touchdown while McCaffrey sat out Monday's 32-19 win over the Jets, with wideout Deebo Samuel (eight carries) essentially serving as the No. 2 back.

Drops 20 points in Week 1
Moody converted six-of-six field-goal attempts and both of his point-after tries in Monday's 32-19 win over the Jets.
Impact
The 49ers' offense moved the ball well Monday while struggling to finish off drives, providing ample opportunities for Moody to post a monster fantasy score. The 2023 third-round pick made 84 percent of his field-goal attempts as a rookie and is off to a tremendous start following his Week 1 output. Moody should be considered a strong fantasy option heading into Sunday's tilt against the Vikings.

Rips off big reception
Juszczyk had two receptions (three targets) for 40 yards in Monday's Week 1 win over the Jets.
Impact
Juszczyk made his mark early in the 2024 campaign when he almost scored on a 34-yard reception in Monday's win. The utility fullback finished tied for third in yardage in a contest that was dominated by San Francisco's run game (38 carries for 180 yards and two touchdowns). Juice will bust out the occasional big play to stand out in the box score, but he doesn't receive enough usage on offense to warrant a RB or FLEX spot in most formats.

No receptions in Week 1 win
Bell logged 13 snaps on offense (18 percent) Monday but did not log a reception in a 32-19 win over the Jets.
Impact
Bell made San Francisco's opening roster as expected after a strong rookie campaign as a backup in 2023. The sophomore wideout didn't record a reception in the win, but he saw the field for 13 snaps on offense in the win. The Michigan product did not get an opportunity to return a kickoff while rookie Jacob Cowing handled punt return duties. Bell doesn't move the fantasy needle heading into a Week 2 matchup against the Vikings in his current role.

No receptions in No. 4 role
Conley logged 29 snaps on offense (40 percent) but did not receive a target in Monday's 32-19 loss to the Jets.
Impact
Conley made the 49ers' Week 1 roster in order to serve as the team's No. 4 option behind the unquestioned starting trio of Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk and Jauan Jennings (ankle). The veteran backup was also on the field for 16 snaps on special teams. Conley could become a deep-league option for a Week 2 matchup against Minnesota should the aforementioned Jennings miss the contest due to a minor ankle injury sustained in Monday's win over New York.

Only sees one snap Monday
Taylor logged one snap on special teams in Monday's 32-19 win over the Jets.
Impact
The backup running back was barely used in a contest that did not feature starter Christian McCaffrey (calf/Achilles). Taylor currently sits behind Jordan Mason (58 snaps) and Isaac Guerendo (13 snaps) in terms of pecking order behind McCaffrey on the 49ers' depth chart.
