Tending to knee issue Ingram was added to the injury report Thursday as a limited participant due to a knee injury.

Impact The Saints may be managing the knee issue that kept Ingram from playing in a Thanksgiving matchup with the Bills. In any case, Friday's practice and subsequent report may provide some clarity into his availability for Sunday's game against the Panthers. If he's able to suit up Week 17, Ingram will continue to play second fiddle to Alvin Kamara out of New Orleans' backfield.

Impact The Saints seemed likely to lean on the run since they were down to fourth-string rookie quarterback Ian Book. However, an injury-depleted offensive line possibly negated those plans, and Book's inability to sustain drives with his arm ultimately led to underwhelming workloads for both Alvin Kamara and Ingram, who finished with a season low in rushing attempts. Expectations should probably remain low for this backfield unless Taysom Hill and/or Trevor Siemian is able to clear COVID protocols before Sunday's home matchup against Carolina.

Impact Ingram was reinstated from the reserve/COVID-19 list earlier this week after missing the club's Week 14 contest against the Jets. The veteran back nearly split touches with starter Alvin Kamara (11 to 13), and neither back was able to do much against a stout Tampa Bay rushing defense. The latter is the more-desirable fantasy asset in what is shaping up to be a timeshare heading into next Monday's matchup against the Dolphins, with Ingram likely needing a trip to the end zone to warrant deep-league value.

Back from COVID-19 list The Saints reinstated Ingram (illness) from the reserve/COVID-19 list Friday, Katherine Terrell of The Athletic reports.

Impact Ingram was placed on the list Dec. 8 after testing positive for the virus and wasn't available for the Saints' Week 14 win over the Jets as a result. Fortunately for New Orleans, lead back Alvin Kamara (knee) returned from a four-game absence for that contest and looked healthy while handling 31 touches. Ingram will likely cut into Kamara's workload now that he's been activated ahead of Sunday's game in Tampa Bay, but the former likely won't be in store for enough volume to remain relevant in the majority of fantasy leagues.
