INJURIES

Morgan Fox - Career year in '22 Fox finished the 2022-23 season with 38 tackles (24 solo), 6.5 sacks and an additional 1.5 tackles for loss across 17 games.
Impact Fox had the best season of his career, setting new highs in both total tackles and sacks. The 28-year-old finished second on the team in sacks and tied for fourth in tackles for loss despite playing only 55 percent of the team's snaps. An unrestricted free agent this offseason, Fox should continue to provide value as a pass rusher either in Los Angeles or elsewhere next season.
JANUARY 12 • ROTOWIRE
Khalil Mack - Leads team in sacks Mack recorded 50 tackles (33 solo), eight sacks, an additional four tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries across 17 games in the 2022-23 season.
Impact In his first season with the Chargers, Mack led the team in both sacks and total tackles for loss. However, the 2016 Defensive Player of the Year failed to record double-digit sacks for the fourth straight season. While Mack may not be as dominant as he was earlier in his career, he is still a force to be reckoned with coming off the edge.
JANUARY 12 • ROTOWIRE
Kenneth Murray Jr. - Reduced role Murray finished the 2022-23 season with 76 tackles (50 solo), one sack, six additional tackles for loss, a forced fumble and an interception across 17 games.
Impact Murray saw a smaller role this season as he was outplayed by both Drue Tranquill and Kyle Van Noy. Despite the reduced playing time, the one-time first-round pick finished third on the team in tackles and recorded the first interception and forced fumble of his career. However, Murray once struggled mightily in pass coverage, allowing a quarterback rating of 110.5 when targeted according to Pro Football Focus. While the 24-year-old has yet to live up to his expectations, he continues to be a solid defender, especially in the run game.
JANUARY 12 • ROTOWIRE
Joey Bosa - Season limited by injury Bosa registered 10 tackles (eight solo), three tackles for loss -- including 2.5 sacks -- and a forced fumble in five games during the 2022-23 regular season.
Impact Bosa spent the majority of the season on injured reserve, as he missed 13 straight games after injuring his groin Week 3, an issue he aggravated Week 18. Bosa was still productive in his limited action, especially as a pass rusher. He finished the season with the sixth-most sacks and tied for the fifth-most quarterback hits on the Chargers. While his injury history might be a cause for concern, it's worth noting the 27-year-old has recorded double-digit sacks in every season he's been fully healthy for.
JANUARY 12 • ROTOWIRE
Derwin James Jr. - Sensational season James finished the 2022-23 season with 115 tackles (64 solo), four sacks, an additional tackle for loss, two interceptions and two forced fumbles in 14 games.
Impact James had another phenomenal season, as he led the Chargers in forced fumbles and recorded the second-most tackles. The Pro Bowl safety also had the most sacks of his career, and he wasn't as hampered by injuries as in prior seasons. Assuming he stays healthy, James should be expected to produce at a high level once again in 2023, in addition to during the upcoming postseason.
JANUARY 12 • ROTOWIRE
Drue Tranquill - Career year Tranquill recorded 144 tackles (93 solo), five sacks, an additional five tackles for loss, a forced fumble and an interception in 17 games during the 2022-23 regular season.
Impact Tranquill had the best season of his career, setting new career highs in tackles and sacks while also registering his first career interception. The 27-year-old led the Chargers in both solo and total tackles and also finished tied for third on the team in sacks, as he supplanted Kenneth Murray for the starting job. An unrestricted free agent this offseason, Tranquill has earned himself a starting role either with the Chargers or somewhere else.
JANUARY 12 • ROTOWIRE
Cameron Dicker - Effective rookie season Dicker finished the 2022-23 season converting 21 of his 22 field-goal tries and all 24 of his extra-point attempts.
Impact Dicker filled in admirably for Dustin Hopkins who missed the majority of the season with a hamstring injury. The rookie kicker led the NFL in field goal-percentage, but he missed the only kick he attempted from beyond 50 yards. While Dicker is a free agent this offseason, he certainly did enough to compete for the starting role either in Los Angeles or elsewhere.
JANUARY 12 • ROTOWIRE
Tre' McKitty - Inefficient season McKitty finished the 2022-23 season catching 10 of his 18 targets for 72 yards.
Impact McKitty failed to surpass 100 yards on the season despite playing in every game, and he was outgained by Donald Parham, who only suited up for six contests. While McKitty has primarily been used as a run blocker, he has still failed to live up to his status as a third-round pick. Don't expect McKitty to be involved more as a pass catcher unless the Chargers opt not to bring back Parham, who is a restricted free agent.

Jags' Lawrence, Chargers' Herbert face off in playoff debuts

Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars easily could have panicked or even packed it in when they were 3-7 in late November

Mike Williams - Misses practice, listed as questionable Williams (back) is listed as questionable for Saturday's playoff opener against the Jaguars.
Impact Though Williams didn't practice again Thursday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network relays that the Chargers plan to give the wideout up to game time before a determination is made on his availability for Saturday night's 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff. If Williams ends up out or limited versus Jacksonville, however, Joshua Palmer and DeAndre Carter would be candidates to see added snaps alongside Keenan Allen.

Mike Williams - Not seen at practice Williams (back) wasn't spotted during the initial portion of Thursday's practice, Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Williams logged DNP listings both Tuesday and Wednesday, and the wideout's absence from the early stages of Thursday's session suggests that he's no lock to be available for Saturday's playoff opener against the Jaguars. The Chargers' upcoming injury report is in line to add further context to Williams' status for the contest.

Mike Williams - Not spotted at practice Williams (back) isn't participating in Wednesday's practice, Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Williams failed to take the field for Tuesday's walk-though session, so what the wideout is able to do during Thursday's practice should be telling with regard to his chances of suiting up for Saturday's wild-card game against the Jaguars. On Monday, head coach Brandon Staley noted that Williams, who sustained a back contusion in Week 18, is expected to practice at some point this week before the Chargers take on Jacksonville.
JANUARY 11 • ROTOWIRE
Kenneth Murray Jr. - Good to go Murray (neck) was a full participant at Tuesday's practice.
Impact Murray suffered a stinger in the Chargers' regular-season finale against the Broncos, but it looks like the issue is not serious following his full participation at practice. Look for him to take on his usual role providing depth at linebacker assuming he avoids any setbacks.
