Ladd McConkey - Records two receptions in Week 2
McConkey hauled in two of four passes for 26 yards during Sunday's 26-3 win in Carolina.
Impact
Afforded seven targets Week 1 against the Raiders, McConkey cashed in one of them for a 10-yard TD en route to a 5-39-1 performance in his pro debut. The rookie second-round pick wasn't able to do much with his quartet of looks from QB Justin Herbert this time around, though, finishing with a meager overall receiving line while fellow WR Quentin Johnson (5-51-2 on six targets) paced Chargers pass catchers this weekend. McConkey will have a tough task on his hands next Sunday on the road versus a staunch Steelers defense.

Quentin Johnston - Two TD grabs in win
Johnston brought in five of six targets for 51 yards and two touchdowns in the Chargers' 26-3 win over the Panthers on Sunday.
Impact
The ground game once again took center stage for the Chargers on Sunday, but Johnston created some fireworks for fantasy managers with his 29- and five-yard touchdown grabs in the first half. The second-year wideout had been talked up during the summer as a potential breakout candidate, and despite modest passing numbers for Justin Herbert thus far, Johnston is certainly showing flashes of potentially take on the mantle of a No. 1 receiver in the future. He'll look to conquer the tough matchup presented by the Steelers defense on the road in Week 3.

Gus Edwards - Heavy workload in win
Edwards rushed 18 times for 59 yards in the Chargers' 26-3 win over the Panthers on Sunday.
Impact
Edwards actually outpaced backfield mate J.K. Dobbins by one carry but was markedly less efficient than his teammate. Nevertheless, the Chargers' ability to control both of their first two games and head coach Jim Harbaugh's penchant for the ground attack have combined to afford both backs a solid amount of opportunity to open the season. Dobbins is undoubtedly the more dynamic of the two, however, so Edwards may fall into more of a true complementary role if the game script is different in a Week 3 visit to the Steelers.

Justin Herbert - Undergoes X-Rays
Herbert (undisclosed) relayed after Sunday's win over the Panthers that he underwent X-Rays after the contest, Daniel Popper of The Athletic and Kris Rhim of ESPN.com report.
Impact
Herbert, who was able to finish the contest after getting taped up, indicated that he "got rolled up" on after a fumble in the second half. In terms of how that might affect his Week 3 status, the Chargers' starting QB said he will "know more in the next couple of days."

Justin Herbert - Gets X-rays on leg
Herbert said after Sunday's 26-3 win over the Panthers that he underwent X-rays on his lower right leg after the contest, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Impact
Herbert, who was able to finish the contest after getting taped up, indicated that he "got rolled up" on after a fumble in the third quarter. In terms of how the injury might affect his status for the Chargers' Week 3 matchup with the Steelers, Herbert said that he would "know more in the next couple of days." Herbert completed 14 of 20 pass attempts for 130 yards, two touchdowns and one interception while adding 18 yards on six carries.

Justin Herbert - Plays game-manager role in win
Herbert completed 14 of 20 passes for 130 yards with two touchdowns and one interception while adding six carries for 18 yards in the Chargers' 26-3 win over the Panthers on Sunday...
Impact
Through two games, Herbert is probably close to unrecognizable to fantasy managers who frequently benefitted from his gaudy yardage totals over his first four seasons. With the Chargers able to stick to head coach Jim Harbaugh's preferred method of winning a game -- that being through a punishing ground attack and sound defense -- Herbert has attempted just 43 passes through two games. However, he did reward those rolling with him in their lineups Sunday by tossing a pair of touchdown passes to Quentin Johnston of 29 and five yards in the first half. Herbert also visited the blue medical tent after a hard hit briefly in the third quarter per Adam Schefter of ESPN.com, but he quickly returned to the game. Next up for Herbert and the Chargers is a challenging and second straight cross-country road trip, as Los Angeles will face off with the Steelers in Week 3.

J.K. Dobbins - Stellar encore in Week 2
Dobbins rushed 17 times for 131 yards and a touchdown and brought in his only target for no gain in the Chargers' 26-3 win over the Panthers on Sunday.
Impact
Any thoughts of Dobbins' spectacular Week 1 performance against the Raiders, which was fueled by 46- and 61-yard runs, having been an outlier were dispelled by the explosive back Sunday, with the 2020 second-round pick putting together a similarly spectacular effort that included another 40+ yard run. Dobbins' game-long run of 43 yards, which resulted in a touchdown just before the two-minute warning in the first half, served as the highlight of his day, but he consistently gained solid yardage while recording 88 yards on his other 16 totes. Dobbins was actually outpaced by one-time Ravens backfield mate Gus Edwards by one carry, but it's clear through two weeks there's plenty of room for two backs to be productive on head coach Jim Harbaugh's run-centered attack. Dobbins will look for a third consecutive 100-yard game when Los Angeles faces off with the Steelers on the road in Week 3.

Junior Colson - Dealing with hamstring issue
Colson (hamstring) is questionable to return to Sunday's game at Carolina.
Impact
Colson was able to get to the Chargers' locker room with trainers under his own power. Until he's healthy enough for football activities again though, the Chargers will probably have to lean more heavily on Denzel Perryman for snaps at linebacker than normal.

Taylor Heinicke - Inactive as third QB
Heinicke (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Panthers.
Impact
The quarterback was traded to the Chargers for a conditional sixth-round pick Aug. 28 and sat out Week 1, too. Heinicke appears to be behind Easton Stick on the depth chart at the moment.

Kimani Vidal - Inactive Sunday
Vidal (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Panthers.
Impact
Vidal -- who was also inactive last week -- could find himself in the Chargers' backfield mix in time, but for now the 2024 sixth-rounder is off the weekly lineup radar. Gus Edwards, J.K. Dobbins and Hassan Haskins are slated to handle the Chargers' RB duties in Week 2.

Ja'Sir Taylor - All clear to play

Impact

ROTOWIRE
Hassan Haskins - Gets green light
Haskins (toe) is active Sunday against the Panthers.
Impact
Haskins picked up a toe injury at some point in the last week but is now well enough to take the field in Week 2. The Michigan product played no role in the Chargers offense last Sunday, playing just 19 snaps on special teams. He'll likely be in a similar role this Sunday, barring any injuries.

Joey Bosa - Ready to go
Bosa (back) is active Sunday against the Panthers.
Impact
Bosa closed out the week with back-to-back DNPs but that won't keep him off the field in Week 2. The Ohio State product's ability to suit up is obviously good news for the Chargers and a boost to their entire defense against Carolina.

•
ROTOWIRE
Alohi Gilman - Not playing Sunday
Gilman (knee) is inactive Sunday against the Panthers.
Impact
Gilman's absence doesn't come as a surprise after he was labeled doubtful Friday. His inability to suit up will leave the Chargers without their starting free safety, and likely looking for Elijah Molden to step up into that role.
