INJURIES

Minor production in win Shenault caught all four of his targets for 24 yards and had one carry for minus-4 yards during Sunday's 9-6 win over the Bills.
Impact Shenault tied for the team lead in receptions, but his involvement once again was limited to the short passing game. The 2020 second-round pick has 32 catches for 343 yards with five rushes for 24 yards and zero total touches through eight games this year, making him a desperation fantasy option barring a significant turnaround.
NOVEMBER 9, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Minimal role in blowout loss Shenault caught two of four targets for 13 yards and had one carry for eight yards during Sunday's 31-7 loss to the Seahawks.
Impact The 2020 second-round pick played 52 of 76 offensive snaps -- four fewer than Jamal Agnew -- and was targeted only four times on a day when QB Trevor Lawrence attempted 54 passes. Shenault's involvement in the offense continues to be inconsistent, and the fact he saw minimal action coming out of the bye week is a worrying sign. He's failed to take advantage of the absence of DJ Chark (ankle), while Agnew, who had only 105 receiving yards in 46 career games entering this season, has 17 catches for 157 yards and a touchdown over the past three contests.
NOVEMBER 1, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Involvement returns Shenault recorded six receptions on 10 targets for 54 yards in Sunday's 23-20 win over the Dolphins.
Impact After being curiously absent from the Jaguars' offensive gameplan in Week 5, Shenault tied for the team lead with 10 targets in Sunday's win. That didn't lead to much production, as he averaged only 5.4 yards per target with his longest receptions going for 12 yards. Despite the inefficiency, Shenault has now seen at least seven targets in four of six games on the campaign and has reached double-digit looks on two occasions.
OCTOBER 17, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Quiet in Week 5 Shenault caught one of three targets for 58 yards against Tennessee on Sunday.
Impact In a game where the Jaguars trailed most of the time and where quarterback Trevor Lawrence attempted 33 passes, Shenault somehow only drew three targets. It's a puzzling outcome for Shenault after catching six receptions for 99 yards on seven targets in Week 4, and especially given the absence of DJ Chark (ankle). The Jaguars coaching staff likely understands Shenault's three targets as a policy failure in need of correction before Week 6, when the Jaguars take on the Dolphins.

Set for larger role Offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell said Thursday that Shenault will take on a bigger role in the passing game with DJ Chark (ankle) slated to miss the rest of the season, John Sh...
Impact Shenault delivered his best game of the year after Chark went down with the injury Week 4, catching six passes for a career-high 99 yards in the Jaguars' loss to the Bengals. The 23-year-old primarily operated in the short passing game for the first three games of the season, but he should be more involved downfield with Chark now sidelined. Shenault had a disappointing start to 2021 after entering the campaign as a fantasy sleeper candidate, but he now has a prime opportunity to turn things around.
OCTOBER 7, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Stands out in close loss Shenault brought in six of seven targets for 99 yards in the Jaguars' 24-21 loss to the Bengals on Thursday night. He also rushed once for 11 yards.
Impact The versatile receiver comfortably led the Jaguars in receptions, receiving yards and targets on the night, with DJ Chark's first-half exit with a fractured ankle playing a part in Shenault's expanded role. The 22-year-old's targets had been on the decline since he'd logged nine in Week 1 against the Texans, so Thursday's resurgence, which included a career-high tally in receiving yards, was certainly a welcome sight. With Chark now out indefinitely, Shenault could continue enjoying a heavier workload for the foreseeable future.

SEPTEMBER 30, 2021 • JAGUARS.COM
Totals 48 yards in loss Shenault secured all four of his targets for 48 yards during Sunday's 31-19 loss to Arizona.
Impact Shenault ranked second on the team in targets through the first two games of the season, but he finished fifth in targets versus the Cardinals. The 22-year-old had a season-high 20-yard reception but continues work mostly underneath in Jacksonville's passing game. Rookie QB Trevor Lawrence continues to struggle with turnovers, and Shenault's not exactly a viable fantasy option at this point as Marvin Jones and DJ Chark remain the more productive wideouts.
SEPTEMBER 26, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Practices fully Shenault (shoulder) practiced fully Wednesday.
Impact Shenault was injured during this past Sunday's loss to the Broncos, but it looks like he escaped any notable damage to his shoulder and a full practice Wednesday puts the wideout on track to play this weekend against the Cardinals. After catching just two of his seven targets for minus-3 yards versus Denver, in Week 3 Shenault will look to revert to the form he displayed in Jacksonville's season opener, which led to a 7/50/0 stat line on 10 targets.
SEPTEMBER 22, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
May not miss time Coach Urban Meyer said Monday that Shenault (shoulder) "should" be available Week 3 versus the Cardinals, John Shipley of SI.com reports.
Impact Shenault managed to avoid a serious shoulder injury after being forced out of Sunday's loss to the Broncos, and John Reid of The Florida Times-Union reports that he's expected to practice this week. While it would certainly be good news if Shenault can return to game action without any absences, it may be difficult to rely on him for fantasy purposes versus Arizona. Before being forced out versus Denver, the second-year wideout only had two catches for negative three yards despite having drawn seven targets.

NFL infamy in sight: Jaguars 9 losses shy of dubious mark

NFL infamy is in sight for the Jacksonville Jaguars
SEPTEMBER 20, 2021 • Associated Press
Injury not long term Shenault (shoulder) underwent an MRI on Monday and is not dealing with a severe injury, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Shenault had a quiet day during Sunday's 23-13 loss to the Broncos even before exiting with a shoulder injury, as he ended the game with just two catches for minus-3 yards, despite drawing seven targets. It's encouraging to see that the second-year pro has avoided a serious injury, though the Jaguars still haven't offered an official update on his status for Week 3 against the Cardinals.
SEPTEMBER 20, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Set for Monday MRI Shenault injured his shoulder in Sunday's 23-13 loss to the Broncos and has an MRI scheduled for Monday to determine the extent of the injury, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Impact Shenault's shoulder injury may have played a role in his quiet production, though the entire Jacksonville passing game struggled as the Denver defense overwhelmed rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence. The recovery timeline for Shenault's injury will likely be clarified once his MRI results come in.
SEPTEMBER 20, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Delivers dud in Week 2 Shenault caught two of seven targets for negative-three yards during Sunday's 23-13 loss to the Broncos.
Impact Shenault's seven targets ranked second on the team -- only Marvin Jones had more with 11 -- though he was unable to do anything with those looks. The 22-year-old is averaging only 5.2 yards per catch and 2.8 yards per target through the first two games of the season. Shenault was a popular sleeper pick following a strong offseason and training camp, but he hasn't produced much yet for the Jags or fantasy managers.
SEPTEMBER 19, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Leads team in receptions Shenault caught seven of nine passes for 50 yards and had one carry for nine yards during Sunday's 37-21 loss at Houston.
Impact Shenault was mostly involved in the underneath passing game, with his longest reception coming in at 14 yards. The 22-year-old showed a strong rapport with Trevor Lawrence, though DJ Chark and Marvin Jones clearly were the favorite downfield options for the rookie quarterback. Shenault should be consistently involved in the offense as somewhat of a safety valve, but he may need to rely on YAC in order to deliver significantly more receiving production.

SEPTEMBER 12, 2021 • NFL.COM
Gets into end zone Sunday Shenault caught all three of his targets for 33 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's preseason win over the Cowboys.
Impact With DJ Chark (finger) and Marvin Jones (shoulder) sitting out the preseason finale, Shenault got plenty of work with Trevor Lawrence and hauled in three straight passes from the rookie QB on the final drive for the first-team offense, culminating in a four-yard TD. That chemistry bodes well for the second-year receiver, but Lawrence spread the ball around during his three series and completed 11 (of 12) passes in total while finding six different receiving options, with five of the completions going to tight ends or running backs. Shenault may end up with more competition for those underneath looks than expected during the regular season.
AUGUST 29, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Five catches in exhibition Shenault caught five of seven targets for 36 yards during Monday's preseason game against the Saints.
Impact Shenault played 24 offensive snaps during the first half and saw all his action with rookie Trevor Lawrence leading the offense. The 22-year-old wideout led the Jaguars in both receptions and targets as the rookie quarterback frequently looked for Shenault underneath. He could very well be the safety valve for Lawrence this season given Jacksonville's lack of receiving talent at tight end.

Shines in offseason work Shenault played well during OTAs and minicamp and was arguably Jacksonville's best offensive player, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports.
Impact The 22-year-old had an up-and-down rookie campaign with the Jaguars' revolving door at quarterback, but he, and the rest of the offense, will receive some stability in 2021 with Trevor Lawrence (hamstring) taking over at quarterback. Shenault flashed his potential Week 17 with six catches for 68 yards and two scores, and he's apparently carried over that performance into his offseason work. The 2020 second-round pick should enter training camp with a clear grip on the No. 3 job at wideout behind DJ Chark and Marvin Jones.
