GAME LOG

INJURIES

Ready for Week 12 action Robinson (heel/knee) practiced in full Friday and doesn't have a designation for Sunday's game against the Falcons, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
Impact Robinson initially suffered a bruised heel Week 8 at Seattle and missed a Week 9 game against the Bills, but he's been able to suit up in back-to-back contests, logging at least 58 percent of offensive snaps both times and totaling 30 touches for 122 yards from scrimmage and two rushing touchdowns. For the first time since picking up the injury, though, he's clear of a designation ahead of game day. Robinson will aim for a bounce-back effort versus an Atlanta defense that has conceded 147.2 total yards per game and 11 TDs to running backs in 10 outings this season.

Thanksgiving week: A good time to look at NFL unfortunates

And the meek shall inherit the first draft pick
NOVEMBER 24, 2021 • Associated Press
Starts week as LP Robinson (heel/knee) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday.
Impact This puts him a step ahead of last week, when he started off as a non-participant before progressing to limited practices Thursday and Friday. Robinson then took 63 percent of offensive snaps in Sunday's 30-10 loss to San Francisco, though he finished with only 14 touches and 38 yards in a game where the Niners thoroughly dominated possession. Robinson did punch in a one-yard touchdown in garbage time, giving him seven scores in his past appearances. He'll have a hard time maintaining the TD pace if Jacksonville's offense stays this bad down the stretch, but there's little doubt about Robinson being the centerpiece, and he seems to be making steady progress with the heel and knee injuries since sitting out Week 9.

Inconsistent Jaguars 'not going to panic' after another dud

Urban Meyer has a wildly inconsistent team
NOVEMBER 22, 2021 • Associated Press
Finds end zone once Robinson ran for 29 yards and one touchdown on 12 carries while catching two passes for nine yards on three targets against San Francisco on Sunday.
Impact Robinson probably did about as well as anyone could in the dysfunctional Jacksonville offense, but overall they predictably struggled against the 49ers and Robinson was less efficient with his carries than usual. It's somewhat encouraging for his fantasy investors that the Jaguars appear to be willing to stick with Robinson even in garbage time. It would be a problem if that were to the contrary, because the Jaguars figure to spend much of their remaining 2021 season slogging through garbage time. Their Week 12 matchup with the Falcons might be the main exception -- their defense is dubious enough that it could be described as a favorable matchup for Robinson, and the Atlanta offense looks weak enough that the Jaguars could have the luxury of running the ball all four quarters.

James Robinson Injury Update Solidifies Week 11 Fantasy Outlook Fantasy managers anxiously awaiting injury updates on Jacksonville Jaguars' running back James Robinson can finally breathe a sigh of relief...
NOVEMBER 21, 2021 • FANDUEL.COM
Ready to face 49ers Robinson (heel/knee) is officially active for Sunday's game against San Francisco.
Impact Robinson was officially questionable for Sunday's contest, though it's not a major surprise he's suiting up after Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported in the early morning that the tailback was on track to play. Robinson returned from a one-game absence last week and had 12 carries for 57 yards and a touchdown while catching four of five targets for 27 yards versus the Colts.

On track to play Sunday Robinson (heel/knee), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the 49ers, is expected to play, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Impact The two injuries prevented Robinson from practicing Wednesday, but the running back was back on the field Thursday and Friday as a limited participant. Despite Rapoport's positive report regarding Robinson's status, fantasy managers will still want to confirm that the 23-year-old avoids the Jaguars' Week 11 inactive list, which will be released 90 minutes prior to the 1 p.m. ET kickoff.

Takes questionable tag into weekend The Jaguars list Robinson (heel/knee) as questionable for Sunday's game against the 49ers after he practiced Friday on a limited basis.
Impact After sitting out the Jaguars' initial Week 11 practice with the two injuries, Robinson managed a pair of limited sessions to close out the week. Though the lack of full activity prevented Robinson from heading into Sunday without a designation, head coach Urban Meyer noted Friday that the running back is "feeling good," according to Doug Kyed of Pro Football Focus. Meyer's assessment offers hope that Robinson will be ready to serve as the Jaguars' lead back Sunday, but fantasy managers will still want to check back in on his status when the team releases its inactive list 90 minutes prior to the 1 p.m. ET kickoff.

Limited in return to practice Robinson (heel/knee) returned to a limited practice Thursday.
Impact Robinson sat out Wednesday's practice, but his return to a limited session Thursday has the Jaguars' starting running back trending in the right direction as Sunday's game against the 49ers approaches. Also limited Thursday was Carlos Hyde (shoulder), which sets the stage for Friday's practice/injury report to reveal whether one or both of the team's top two rushing options head into the weekend with a Week 11 injury designation.

Back at practice Robinson (heel/knee) was spotted at practice Thursday, Mark Long of the Associated Press reports.
Impact Long adds that Robinson is expected to be limited, but the running back's return to the field Thursday, in any capacity, has him trending in the right direction after being held out of Wednesday's practice.
NOVEMBER 18, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Sits out practice Wednesday Robinson (heel/knee) didn't practice Wednesday.
Impact While Robinson continues to manage a bruised heel that caused him to sit out Week 9 action, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network suggests that the running back's knee issue is minor and his absence from practice Wednesday mostly precautionary. That's a notion that would be solidified if Robinson --who logged 39 of possible 66 snaps on offense and 12 carries in this past Sunday's loss to the Colts - is able to practice in any capacity Thursday.

Scores TD in return Robinson (heel) rushed 12 times for 57 yards and a touchdown and brought in four of five targets for 27 yards in the Jaguars' 23-17 loss to the Colts on Sunday.
Impact Robinson had a successful return from a one-game absence considering he averaged 4.8 yards per carry and also recorded his sixth rushing touchdown of the season on a one-yard run early in the fourth quarter. However, his overall touches on the ground were capped due to game script, with Robinson's carry total serving as his lowest in a non-injury-shortened game since Week 2. On the plus side, Robinson's reception total was his highest since Week 3, and he'll have a chance to boost his workload back up against a vulnerable 49ers run defense in a Week 11 matchup.

Clear to play Sunday Robinson (heel) is active for Sunday's game against the Colts.
Impact Robinson was viewed as a game-time decision for Sunday's contest, but he apparently looked well enough during the pregame workout to get cleared to face Indianapolis. The 23-year-old will lead Jacksonville's backfield, though according to Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com, coach Urban Meyer still plans to give Carlos Hyde a heavier workload than usual with Robinson returning from a bruised heel.
NOVEMBER 14, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Game-day call Robinson (heel) is viewed as a game-time decision for Sunday's game against the Colts, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Impact While the report suggests that playing isn't likely to make things worse in terms of the running back's bruised heel, Robinson is line to work out before Sunday's 1:00 ET contest before a determination is made on his Week 10 status. If Robinson is out or limited, Carlos Hyde would continue to see an increased role, with Dare Ogunbowale and Devine Ozigbo on hand in reserve.
NOVEMBER 14, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Questionable for Week 10 Robinson (heel) is listed as questionable for Sunday's contest in Indianapolis.
Impact Robinson was knocked out of a Week 8 loss in Seattle with what was eventually termed a bruised heel. After taking a seat during this past Sunday's win against the Bills, he opened Week 10 prep with no practice Wednesday, but he was able to log limited sessions both Thursday and Friday to set himself up for a potential return this weekend. Coach Urban Meyer relayed an expectation earlier this week that Robinson would be back, but it won't be confirmed until 90 minutes before Sunday's 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff. If Robinson isn't available, Carlos Hyde will handle lead-back duties, with Dare Ogunbowale and Devine Ozigbo on hand for any reps that trickle down.
NOVEMBER 12, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Likely questionable Sunday Coach Urban Meyer said Robinson (heel) is expected to receive the questionable tag for Sunday's game at Indianapolis, Mark Long of the Associated Press reports.
Impact The 23-year-old returned to practice as a limited participant Thursday, and he'll likely need to show significant improvement at Friday's session if he's going to avoid the questionable tag. Robinson appears on track to play Sunday, though his availability is officially up in the air for now.
NOVEMBER 12, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Limited at practice Robinson (heel) returned to a limited practice Thursday.
Impact After sitting out practice Wednesday, Robinson, who is dealing with a bruised right heel, was able to log a limited session Thursday, which bodes well for his availability this weekend against the Colts. A previous report from Michael DiRocco of ESPN relayed that coach Urban Meyer expressed optimism about the running back's Week 10 status, though Friday's final injury report of the week will ultimately reveal whether Robinson approaches Sunday's 1:00 ET kickoff with an official injury designation.
NOVEMBER 11, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Back at practice Robinson (heel) returned to practice Thursday, John Reid of The Florida Times-Union reports.
Impact Robinson, who is dealing with a bruised right heel, didn't practice Wednesday, but his return to the field Thursday has him trending in the right direction as Sunday's game against the Colts approaches. The Jaguars' upcoming injury report will reveal Robinson's official participation level, but it's worth noting that Michael DiRocco of ESPN relayed earlier this week that coach Urban Meyer expressed optimism about the running back's Week 10 status.
NOVEMBER 11, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Logs DNP on Wednesday Robinson (heel) didn't practice Wednesday.
Impact Robinson was inactive for this past Sunday's 9-6 win over the Bills, so his status will need to be monitored closely in the wake of his absence from Wednesday's practice. Jacksonville's lead back has two more chances to practice this week, but if he's limited or out this weekend against the Colts, Carlos Hyde would once again be in line for an expanded workload in Week 10.
NOVEMBER 10, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
May return Week 10 Coach Urban Meyer said Robinson (heel) is expected to play Week 10 in Indianapolis after sitting out Sunday's win over the Bills, John Shipley of SI.com reports.
Impact Robinson was inactive after being labeled questionable for Sunday's contest, though he was apparently expected to play up until the morning of the game. Carlos Hyde rushed 21 times for 67 yards and caught one pass for six yards versus Buffalo, but he would revert to a secondary role should Robinson be able to play next weekend.
NOVEMBER 7, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Won't play Week 9 Robinson (heel) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Bills.
Impact Robinson was considered questionable for Sunday's contest, but Adam Schefter of ESPN reported Saturday the Jaguars were pessimistic about his outlook, and he's now officially unavailable. Carlos Hyde is poised to lead Jacksonville's backfield versus Buffalo, while Dare Ogunbowale could see a lesser role while handling some work on passing downs.
NOVEMBER 7, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
May be trending toward DNP Robinson is expected to test out his injured heel in pregame warmups, but the Jaguars are increasingly pessimistic that he'll be able to play Sunday against the Bills, Adam Schefte...
Impact Robinson made an early exit from Jacksonville's Week 8 loss at Seattle with what was initially termed an ankle issue, but coach Urban Meyer clarified afterward that the running back instead was tending to a bruised heel. Subsequently, Robinson was considered day-to-day, and he proceeded to log just one limited practice Friday before the team gave him a questionable designation for Week 9. If he ends up having a suboptimal workout ahead of Sunday's contest, the Jags are poised to make Robinson inactive, but fortunately his managers will have fair warning and plenty of options to replace him in lineups with a 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff. Carlos Hyde stands to benefit in that scenario in Robinson's stead, with Dare Ogunbowale and Devine Ozigbo on hand for any reps that linger.
