Texans, Jaguars try to end skids in meeting without Meyer
The Jacksonville Jaguars have a chance to show whether Urban Meyer’s sudden dismissal three days before a game will pull them together or tear them apart

Resting Thursday
Robinson (heel/knee) was a non-participant at Thursday's practice.
Impact
Robinson was a limited practice participant Wednesday and rested at Thursday's session, which is the plan for the rest of the season, per Mark Long of the Associated Press. There's been no indication of any setbacks with the 23-year-old's heel and knee injuries, so he should be back on the practice field Friday.

Limited at Wednesday's practice
Robinson (heel/knee) was a limited participant at Wednesday's practice.
Impact
Robinson picked up only six carries for four yards during Sunday's 20-0 loss to the Titans, but on a positive note, he doesn't appear to have suffered an aggravation of either of his lingering injuries. A report surfaced last week indicating that the 23-year-old is expected to rest every Thursday for the rest of the season, so he'll likely be listed as a non-participant on the Jaguars' second injury report of Week 15.

Lawrence on Jaguars drama: You can't always be in headlines
Trevor Lawrence has never experienced this much drama in a football season

Completely ineffective
Robinson recorded six carries for four yards in Sunday's 20-0 loss to the Titans. He was not targeted.
Impact
After consistent chatter surrounding Robinson's role throughout the week, he accounted for the majority of Jacksonville's rush attempts. However, that still amounted to very little volume, as the Jaguars only tallied eight rushing attempts for the entire day. Equally concerning was Robinson's lack of involvement as a receiver, as Sunday's effort marked his first game without a target on the season. A Week 15 matchup against Houston could offer some reprieve for Robinson, but given that he's combined to record only 14 carries for 28 yards across his last two games, it will be difficult to have significant faith in his potential to produce.

Ready for Week 14
Robinson (heel/knee) isn't listed with an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Titans, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
Impact
The 23-year-old was able to avoid the questionable tag after putting in a full practice Friday. Robinson has been nursing the knee and heel injuries over the past few weeks, but according to John Shipley of SI.com, he practiced Wednesday for the first time in awhile and had a good session. The tailback was briefly pulled last week against the Rams after losing a fumble, and Carlos Hyde took over and out-touched Robinson, 10-9, and scored a one-yard touchdown, despite losing a fumble of his own. Quarterback Trevor Lawrence made clear to the coaching staff this week how he feels about Robinson, and per Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com the signal-caller said, "James [Robinson] is one of our best players, and he's got to be in the game." Lawrence is right, and hopefully his plea to the coaches will result in a longer leash for Robinson down the stretch because the second-year running back is clearly the most productive weapon in Jacksonville's struggling offense.

Slated to rest Thursdays
Robinson (heel/knee) wasn't spotted at practice Thursday, John Reid of The Florida Times-Union reports.
Impact
Robinson logged a limited session Wednesday, but his absence the following day is evidently not indicative of a setback, with Mark Long of the Associated Press noting that the running back is expected to get every Thursday off for the rest of the season with an eye toward managing his practice workload. As long as Robinson practices in any capacity Friday, he'll be in line to suit up Sunday versus the Titans, though he'll probably need to work fully in order to avoid a Week 14 injury designation.

Starts week as limited participant
Robinson (heel/knee) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday.
Impact
Robinson has logged full practices here and there and also missed some sessions entirely over the past month, but he's mostly been a limited participant while dealing primarily with the heel injury. He was limited in all three of Jacksonville's practices last week, resulting in him being listed as questionable before he was ultimately active for Sunday's 37-7 loss to the Rams. Robinson was benched for most of the first half after an early fumble, but he received more playing time after the break, while Carlos Hyde coughed up a fumble of his own. Assuming no setbacks with his nagging injuries, Robinson should handle a larger workload this weekend at Tennessee.

Briefly pulled after fumble
Robinson ran for 24 yards on eight carries against the Rams on Sunday.
Impact
Robinson lost a fumble in the first quarter and saw his playing time mostly cease in favor of Carlos Hyde, who ran for 24 yards and one touchdown on nine carries while losing a fumble of his own. The idea that Robinson should get pulled for one mistake, especially in favor of a player like Hyde, is the sort of ridiculousness that would barely seem possible with any other organization, but the Urban Meyer Jaguars are innovators in failure, and by now it's difficult to see how that changes until new people are in charge. After the game Meyer tried to evade responsibility when speaking to the press, saying on the one hand that Robinson's playing time was the prerogative of running backs coach Bernie Parmalee while at another point implying Robinson's foot and heel injuries might have affected his playing time. It will be worth monitoring Robinson's practice activity throughout the week, but if healthy he'll likely be the best player on the Jaguars offense as they take on the Titans in Week 14.

Active for Sunday's game
Robinson (heel/knee) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Rams, John Oehser of the Jaguars' official site reports.
Impact
Per Adam Schefter of ESPN, heel and knee issues have left Robinson hobbled of late, but the running back was feeling better as of Saturday, setting the stage for him to suit up Sunday. As long as Robinson -- who parlayed his 38 snaps in the Jaguars' Week 12 loss to the Falcons into 17 carries for 86 yards and three catches for 29 yards -- is able to avoid any in-game setbacks, he should continue to lead his team's backfield versus Los Angeles, with Carlos Hyde on hand to work in a complementary role in the meantime.

Plans to suit up Week 13
Robinson (heel/knee), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Rams, plans to try and play, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Impact
The two injuries have left Robinson hobbled for weeks, but he's proceeded to suit up in each of Jacksonville's last three games while averaging 79.0 yards from scrimmage per contest and scoring two touchdowns. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network characterizes Robinson as more of a game-time decision ahead of Sunday's 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff, but unless he deals with a setback in pregame warmups, expect the 23-year-old to start as he normally does. Carlos Hyde is the next man up for work in the Jacksonville backfield if Robinson is inactive or limited during the contest.

Game-time call Week 13
Robinson (heel/knee) is viewed as a game-time decision ahead of Sunday's contest against the Rams, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Impact
Per Rapoport, the assumption earlier in the week was that the running back likely wouldn't play, but Robinson is reportedly feeling better and now has a chance to suit up, a notion echoed by an Adam Schefter of ESPN.com. How his pre-game workout goes will therefore determine Robinson's status, which will be known when Jacksonville releases its inactive list 90 minutes prior to the 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff. If Robinson is out this week, Carlos Hyde would see an increased role in the team's backfield.

Gets Week 13 designation
The Jaguars list Robinson (heel/knee) as questionable for Sunday's game against the Rams.
Impact
Robinson has been tending to the pair of injuries for more than a month, but he's suited up in each of the Jaguars' last three games. Though he's seen his snaps scaled back in those contests compared to earlier in the season, Robinson hasn't had to sacrifice many touches, as he's averaging 13.7 carries and four targets during that three-game stretch. Though he was limited in all three of the Jaguars' practices this week, expect Robinson to ultimately avoid the inactive list ahead of Sunday's 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff and serve as Jacksonville's lead back.

Logs limited practice session
Robinson (heel/knee) was listed by the Jaguars as a limited practice participant Thursday.
Impact
Initial reports suggested that Robinson wasn't present for Thursday's practice, but evidently the running back was able to fit some work in after all and thus logged a limited session. If he's able to practice fully Friday, Robinson could approach Sunday's game against the Rams minus an injury designation, a progression that would match how he headed into Week 12 action.

ROTOWIRE
Not spotted at practice
Robinson (heel/knee) wasn't present for the early portion of Thursday's practice, Mark Long of the Associated Press reports.
Impact
Robinson was limited Wednesday, so his absence from Thursday's session is notable. However, there's a chance that the running back is being rested for maintenance purposes as he continues to manage heel and knee issues. What he's able to do Friday will therefore be pivotal with regard to his chances of suiting up Sunday against the Rams.

Practices in limited fashion
Robinson (heel/knee) was a limited participant at Wednesday's practice.
Impact
Robinson continues to deal with the two injuries, but the fact he was able to practice Wednesday in some fashion indicates he didn't aggravate anything during Sunday's loss to the Falcons. The 23-year-old has avoided an injury designation the past few games despite starting each week with limitations, and he may be on a similar track Week 13.

Goes over 100 yards from scrimmage
Robinson turned 17 carries into 86 yards and gathered in three of four targets for 29 yards during Sunday's 21-14 defeat to the Falcons. He also lost a fumble.
Impact
Since sitting out Week 9 due to a bruised heel, Robinson has managed to achieve active status in three straight contests, averaging 16.7 touches for 79 yards from scrimmage per game while scoring two rushing TDs. That's more or less in line with his output in seven appearances pre-injury -- 87.9 total yards per game, five scores -- but the second-year back hasn't had a run of 20-plus yards since Week 6. While Robinson may have some practice limitations this week, too, he'll look to keep it going next Sunday when the Jags travel to L.A. to face the Rams' 10th-ranked rush defense.
