Ruled out for season finale Head coach Doug Marrone said Wednesday that Robinson (ankle) won't be available for the Jaguars' Week 17 game against the Colts, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Though Robinson's ankle injury isn't believed to be a long-term concern, the Jaguars won't take any chances with their top running back with little at stake for the organization in the season finale. As a result, Robinson will finish the season with 1,070 rushing yards, leaving him just shy of the NFL record for an undrafted rookie established by the Colts' Dominic Rhodes in 2001 (1,104). While Robinson was sidelined in the Week 16 loss to the Bears, Dare Ogunbowale stepped in as the Jaguars' primary back, playing 71 percent of the offensive snaps and finishing with 14 carries for 71 yards and three receptions for seven yards on five targets.

Impact Robinson hasn't practiced in any capacity since injuring his ankle Week 15, and Marrone hinted that his chances of suiting up Week 17 may be slim unless Wednesday's examination goes well. Dare Ogunbowale would stand to lead Jacksonville's backfield against Indianapolis on Sunday if Robinson can't go, with Devine Ozigbo operating in the No. 2 role.

Impact Robinson received the questionable tag after the Jaguars listed him as a non-participant in each of their three practice reports for Week 16. Despite the running back's lack of on-field reps with the Jaguars opting to take a cautious approach while he manages the injury, John Shipley of SI.com relays that Robinson has indicated that he wants to and expects to play this weekend. If, however, Robinson ends up out or limited versus Chicago, Dare Ogunbowale and Devine Ozigbo would be in line for expanded roles out of the backfield.

Impact Though he was rested at practice for the second day in a row, Robinson said Wednesday that he wants to and expects to play Sunday against the Bears, according to John Shipley of SI.com. Whether that comes to pass will likely hinge on what Robinson is able to do at the Jaguars' final practice session of Week 16 on Friday. If Robinson is withheld from practice or is limited, he'll likely be listed as questionable -- at best -- for Sunday's contest.

Impact Robinson had a tough time finding open running room in last week's loss to the Ravens, accruing 53 yards and a touchdown on 19 touches before departing with the ankle injury. While the issue doesn't appear to be significant, the Jaguars appear set to hold him out of practice Wednesday, and perhaps Thursday's and Friday's sessions as well. If that ends up being the case, the Jaguars may take the decision on whether Robinson plays out of his hands, but for now, the undrafted rookie is optimistic that he'll be ready to go by the time Sunday's game arrives.
