GAME LOG

INJURIES

Logs full practice Duvernay (ankle) was a full practice participant Friday and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Rams.
Impact Duvneray's full participation in practice suggests he's on track to play this weekend, likely resuming his role as Baltimore's slot receiver and return specialist. There's not much upside for Duvernay's target volume if Marquise Brown (illness), Rashod Bateman and Sammy Watkins all play, but Brown is listed as questionable and appears in more danger than Duvernay of missing the game. It's also unclear if starting quarterback Lamar Jackson (ankle) will play.

Lamar Jackson misses practice again, questionable for Sunday

Baltimore star Lamar Jackson missed practice again because of his injured ankle, and the Ravens listed him as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams

Not back at practice Duvernay (ankle) didn't practice Wednesday, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun reports.
Impact The slot receiver missed every practice last week and was listed as doubtful before he was ultimately inactive in Baltimore's loss to Cincinnati. Coming off his first absence of the season, Duvernay isn't looking great to make it back for Week 16. He's averaging only 2.2 catches for 18.1 yards per game, but he leads the NFL with 360 punt return yards, and he also handles kickoffs most of the time. Last week, James Proche and Tylan Wallace took on return duties for Baltimore.

Not playing against Bengals Duvernay (ankle) won't play Sunday against the Bengals.
Impact As expected, Duvernay has been ruled out for this contest after he couldn't practice during the entire week. This is his first absence of the season. Marquise Brown and Rashod Bateman should serve as Baltimore's top two wideouts with Sammy Watkins (undisclosed) on the COVID list, leaving James Proche, Miles Boykin and Tylan Wallace to round out the receiving corps.

Likely unavailable Sunday Duvernay (ankle) is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Bengals, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun reports.
Impact Duvernay has been unable to practice this week due to the ankle issue, and he's on track to miss his first game of the season Sunday. Marquise Brown and Rashod Bateman should serve as Baltimore's top two wideouts with Sammy Watkins (undisclosed) on the COVID list, leaving James Proche, Miles Boykin and Tylan Wallace to round out the receiving corps.

Still not practicing Thursday Duvernay (ankle) remained sidelined at practice Thursday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN reports.
Impact Both Duvernay and quarterback Lamar Jackson have kicked off the week with consecutive absences due to their respective injuries. The latter's status is more significant, but Duvernay's absence would be nothing to sneeze at considering he's a Pro Bowl return man on special teams and provides depth at wide receiver. James Proche would likely take Duvernay's spot on special teams if the 2020 third-round pick can't go Sunday in Cincinnati.

Not practicing Duvernay (ankle) didn't practice Wednesday, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
Impact The slot receiver played a season-low 27 snaps in Sunday's 31-30 loss to Green Bay, with coach John Harbaugh revealing afterward that Duvernay would be considered day-to-day with an ankle injury. An absence this upcoming Sunday in Cincinnati likely would leave more snaps for Rashod Bateman, along with Sammy Watkins (reserve/COVID-19) if he's available or James Proche if not.

Close games now swinging against slumping Ravens

It has been a season of razor-thin finishes for the Baltimore Ravens and those sure have evened out recently
DECEMBER 20, 2021 • Associated Press
Dealing with ankle injury Coach John Harbaugh said Monday that Duvernay is considered day-to-day with an ankle injury, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
Impact Duvernay's snap count decreased in Sunday's loss to the Packers, and his ankle injury provides an explanation for his lack of playing time. The Ravens will presumably monitor his status in practice this week before determining his availability for Sunday's game against Cincinnati. If Duvernay is unable to play in Week 16, Miles Boykin and James Proche could see an uptick in playing time.
DECEMBER 20, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Playing time dwindles Sunday Duvernay caught all three of his targets for 13 yards Sunday against the Packers.
Impact Duvernay was more efficient this time around after catching just two of five targets in Week 14, but his overall effectiveness in the receiving game remained low. His snap count decreased significantly on offense, dropping from 47 to 22. In fact, this was Duvernay's lowest offensive snap count of the entire season. Rashod Bateman and Marquise Brown were the two receivers who played over 85 percent of the snaps, leaving few opportunities for Duvernay and other depth options to see the field outside of two-wide sets. Baltimore travels to Cincinnati for a pivotal game against the Bengals in Week 16.

Held to two catches Duvernay caught two of five targets for 14 yards Sunday against the Browns and added a three-yard carry.
Impact Baltimore stuck with the passing game despite Lamar Jackson leaving the game with injury, but Duvernay still did not make a major impact on the box score. He played 68 percent of the offensive snaps, which marked his highest percentage since Week 5 and drew his second-highest target count of the year. Duvernay appears to have a locked-in role in terms of playing time, but he has yet to convert those snaps into consistent receiving production.
DECEMBER 14, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Two grabs against Steelers Duvernay had two catches for 21 yards on three targets Sunday against Pittsburgh.
Impact The second-year man also had an eight-yard rush wiped out by a penalty. Duvernay played the second-most snaps among Baltimore receivers, out-snapping Sammy Watkins and Rashod Bateman by 10 and 11 snaps, respectively. Still, he only saw three targets, which ranked fifth on the team. Duvernay continues to see consistent playing time, but his target volume tends to stay below five most weeks. Baltimore travels to Cleveland in Week 14.
DECEMBER 7, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Cleared to face Steelers Duvernay (thigh) doesn't carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Steelers, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun reports.
Impact Duvernay upgraded his activity level with each subsequent practice and ended up avoiding an injury designation altogether. Most of Duvernay's impact comes as a return man on special teams, though he also provides depth at wide receiver on offense.

Logs limited practice Duvernay (thigh) was limited at practice Thursday, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun reports.
Impact After sitting out Wednesday's session, Duvernay is trending in the right direction in advance of Sunday's game against the Steelers. He'll likely need to practice fully Friday, however, in order to avoid a Week 13 injury designation.
