INJURIES

Bottled up in loss Robinson rushed the ball 11 times for 36 yards in Sunday's 55-23 loss to the Eagles in the NFC Championship Game.
Impact Robinson led the Commanders' backfield in carries, though he saw limited work overall. Austin Ekeler and Jayden Daniels earned eight and six rushing attempts respectively, and Ekeler also accounted for all of the pass-catching work out of the backfield. As a result, with Washington chasing points for most of the contest, Ekeler took over as the lead back in the final two quarters. Robinson ended the season on a slide in production, as he was held to 50 or fewer total yards in four of the team's last seven games -- including the postseason. That casts doubt over his potential role in 2025 despite topping 175 in all three seasons as a pro.

Pair of rush TDs in upset Robinson rushed 15 times for 77 yards and two touchdowns and wasn't targeted in the Commanders' 45-31 divisional-round win over the Lions on Saturday night.
Impact The Lions had maintained one of the league's best run defenses all season despite enduring a multitude of injuries, but Robinson and backfield mate Austin Ekeler both were able to make significant inroads on the ground Saturday. Robinson operated in his usual No. 1 back role and recorded two- and one-yard rushing touchdowns in the second and fourth quarter, respectively. The talented third-year back served as a key component of the Commanders' offensive success and helped keep the Lions' defense off balance in Jayden Daniels' second career playoff start, and he'll look to fill a similar role in an NFC Championship Game matchup against the Rams or Eagles on Sunday, Jan. 26.

Who are the 10 best players in the Commanders-Lions divisional round matchup?
Struggles in tough matchup Robinson was held to 16 yards on 10 carries while catching four of five targets for 22 yards in Sunday's 23-20 win over the Buccaneers.
Impact Robinson failed to generate any running lanes against Pro Bowl DT Vita Vea and the interior of Tampa Bay's defense. Quarterback Jayden Daniels wound up leading the Commanders in carries (13) as the rushing offense was forced to operate outside of the numbers in the second half. Robinson also had to deal with the presence of veteran backup Austin Ekeler -- who was activated from IR in Week 18 -- poaching 11 touches for a combined 53 yards in Sunday's narrow victory. With a shared backfield and a potential pass-heavy game plan set for the divisional round, Robinson makes for a marginal DFS option against the Lions on Saturday.

Commanders' Brian Robinson Jr. on playoffs: 'We have a team full of fighters that never give up' Washington is seeking its first NFL postseason victory in 19 years on Sunday night.
JANUARY 12, 2025 • AL.COM
Modest workload in Week 18 Robinson rushed five times for 10 yards and caught his only target for six yards in Sunday's 23-19 win over the Cowboys.
Impact Robinson didn't get many touches in the regular-season finale as the Commanders chose not to overwork their running backs ahead of the postseason. Washington's lead back finishes the regular season with 187 carries for 799 yards and eight touchdowns, as well as 20 catches for 159 yards on 25 targets. Austin Ekeler (concussion) returned from injured reserve Sunday, but Robinson's likely to get the majority of touches over Ekeler in the wild-card round against either the Rams or Buccaneers.

Handles 15 touches Sunday Robinson took 13 carries for 60 yards while catching both of his targets for nine yards in Sunday's 30-24 overtime win over the Falcons.
Impact Robinson turned in a middling performance as rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels carried the team to victory Sunday. The 25-year-old Robinson did set a new career high in rushing yards (849) following Sunday's modest showing. Robinson will continue heading Washington's rushing attack in next Sunday's season-finale against the Cowboys.
DECEMBER 30, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Held in check in Week 16 Robinson carried the ball 10 times for 24 yards and caught two of three targets for 17 yards in Sunday's 36-33 win over the Eagles.
Impact The third-year running back wasn't much involved in the game plan once the Commanders fell behind early, and Jayden Daniels wound up leading the team in rushing yards while also throwing five TDs in the comeback victory. Robinson still crept closer to 1,000 scrimmage yards for the season, and he sits 127 yards away heading into a Week 17 clash with the Falcons that could allow him to have more of a featured role.

Gains 87 total yards Sunday Robinson had 21 carries for 65 yards while corralling all three of his targets for 22 receiving yards in Sunday's 20-19 win over New Orleans.
Impact Robinson struggled as a runner Sunday, averaging just 3.1 yards per carry despite tying his season high in carries (21). The 25-year-old helped offset his inefficient rushing day with the second-highest yardage total as a receiver through 11 active games this year. Robinson will continue to lead Washington's backfield as the team prepares to host Philadelphia next Sunday.

Rumbles for 40-yard TD in win Robinson rushed 16 times for 103 yards and a touchdown while catching his only target for six yards in Sunday's 42-19 win over the Titans.
Impact Robinson quickly showed that he's over the ankle injury he sustained in the Week 12 loss to Dallas, opening the scoring with a 40-yard touchdown run on the game's first possession. That hot start helped Robinson post his third 100-yard rushing performance of the season and first since Week 4. With Austin Ekeler (concussion) on IR, Robinson should continue to handle heavy workloads as the clear lead back after Washington's Week 14 bye.

Avoids injury designation Robinson (ankle) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Titans, Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports reports.
Impact Robinson may even have a larger-than-usual role despite hurting his ankle last week, seeing as Austin Ekeler suffered a concussion later in the game and now has been ruled out for Week 13. Robinson upgraded to full practice participation Friday after being limited the previous wo days.
NOVEMBER 29, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Stays limited Thursday Robinson (ankle) was listed as limited on Thursday's injury report.
Impact It's unclear if the Commanders practiced Thursday, but Robinson would have maintained his activity from one day prior if they did. He's in a better position to be available Sunday against the Titans than fellow RB Austin Ekeler, who has yet to log any on-field work since coming out of this past Sunday's loss to the Cowboys with a concussion. Friday's practice report will unveil whether or not Robinson heads into the weekend with a designation.

Officially limited Wednesday Robinson (ankle) practiced in a limited capacity Wednesday, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
Impact During this past Sunday's loss to the Cowboys, Robinson attempted to gut through an ankle injury that he suffered in the first quarter, but he eventually wasn't able to return after getting a questionable tag for a second time after halftime. Fellow RB Austin Ekeler suffered a concussion on a kick return late in the contest and was held out of practice Wednesday. Considering the players seem to be trending in different directions ahead of Sunday's game against the Titans, Robinson clearly is the better bet to be available Week 13. If Robinson ends up inhibited or even inactive this weekend, Jeremy McNichols and Chris Rodriguez will be the options out of the Commanders backfield.
NOVEMBER 27, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Practicing Wednesday Robinson (ankle) took part in Wednesday's practice, JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington reports.
Impact The Commanders lost their top two running backs to injury this past Sunday against the Cowboys. First, Robinson was deemed questionable to return on two occasions due to an ankle injury and was contained to 12 snaps and six touches. And in the final minutes, Austin Ekeler took a big hit on a kickoff return and was diagnosed with a concussion. Ekeler isn't practicing Wednesday as he makes his way through the protocol for head injuries, but Robinson's ability to handle at least some drills bodes well for his status for Week 13. Jeremy McNichols and Chris Rodriguez are the healthy RBs on Washington's active roster.

Impact Robinson initially injured his ankle early in this past Sunday's loss to the Cowboys. He was cleared to return by the medical staff, but Robinson aggravated the ankle in the second half and wasn't able to get back in the game. Robinson ended up playing just 12 offensive snaps all day. He's battled a multitude of injuries since the calendar flipped to October. With Austin Ekeler (concussion) also banged up, the Commanders may again have to turn to Jeremy McNichols in Week 13.

Exits again Sunday Robinson exited Sunday's game against the Cowboys a second time due to an ankle injury.
Impact Robinson went to the locker room after his first carry of the game due to an ankle issue but was able to get back on the field. Shortly after halftime, though, the Commanders again deemed him questionable to return. If he's unable to do so, Robinson will finish Week 12 with five carries for 13 yards and one catch (on two targets) for 11 yards. Austin Ekeler and Jeremy McNichols will man Washington's backfield for as long as Robinson is sidelined.
