No rushing attempts Sunday Robinson did not record a carry and caught all three of his targets for eight yards in Sunday's 30-19 loss to the Buccaneers.

Impact It was an odd usage game for Robinson after he did not receive a carry for the first time in six appearances this year. Equally abnormal, the veteran backup's three targets Sunday matched the combined total from his previous five contests. The end result was still unsavory from a fantasy perspective, as Robinson was unable to do much with just five snaps played on offense (seven percent). Fantasy managers shouldn't expect much from Robinson in games that starter Christian McCaffrey is healthy for. The same can be said for next Sunday's tilt against the Falcons.

John Lynch's big preseason move has been a major bust so far for 49ers An issue has become even more glaring in the 49ers backfield as running back Brian Robinson has not done much of anything.

OCTOBER 5, 2025 • NINERNOISE.COM

Held to 12 yards Thursday Robinson rushed five times for 12 yards and was not targeted as a receiver in Thursday's 26-23 overtime win against the Rams.

Impact Starter Christian McCaffrey gobbled up a season high 76 snaps on offense (88 percent) Thursday, leaving just scraps for Robinson, even with the 49ers missing several key offensive players on a short week. The veteran backup finished with his worst per-carry average (2.4 yards) since being traded to San Francisco this preseason. Robinson's lack of involvement in the passing game (three targets) coupled with zero trips to the end zone through five appearances make him a poor fantasy option in Week 6 against the Buccaneers.

Gains 21 yards Sunday Robinson rushed five times for 21 yards and was not targeted as a receiver in Sunday's 26-21 loss to Jacksonville.

Impact Robinson only logged two more snaps on offense (eight) than he did in Week 3, but he finished with three more carries on Sunday than the two he received against Arizona. Christian McCaffrey continued to dominate San Francisco's backfield usage, taking 23 touches for 141 yards and touchdown in the team's first loss of the campaign. Robinson is the clear No. 2 behind CMC, but there simply isn't enough scraps left for another rusher to thrive in this offense. The 26-year-old Robinson is not a viable fantasy option for Week 5 when the 49ers face the Rams on Thursday Night Football.

SEPTEMBER 29, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Drop in usage Sunday Robinson had two carries for 22 yards and was not targeted as a receiver in Sunday's 16-15 win over Arizona.

Impact Robinson saw his usage drop to nine percent on offense (six snaps) against the Cardinals, and his two touches checked in well below the 8.5 he averaged over the first two weeks of the campaign. The 26-year-old made the most of his sparse opportunities Sunday, ripping off a season best 19-yard run in the fourth quarter. No other backup saw the field on offense in the win, so Robinson's reduced playing time was likely the result of the 49ers leaning on Christian McCaffrey heavily against a division opponent. Expect Robinson to continue receiving a handful of carries backing up CMC against the Jaguars next Sunday.

Handles seven touches Sunday Robinson rushed six times for 20 yards and caught his only target for a loss of one yard in Sunday's 26-21 win over New Orleans.

Impact Robinson struggled to find much running room with his allotted touches Sunday. The 26-year-old wound up playing 16 snaps on offense (23 percent) and was still the only backup runner deployed behind Christian McCaffrey. Robinson will continue serving a change of pace role for the 49ers against the Cardinals next Sunday.

Gets 10 touches in SF debut Robinson rushed nine times for 33 yards with one reception for four yards on two targets in Sunday's 17-13 win over Seattle.

Impact Robinson had a smooth debut with San Francisco after being dealt from Washington just weeks before the start of the regular season. The 2022 third-round pick slotted directly behind starter Christian McCaffrey and handled 10 touches while playing 18 snaps on offense (24 percent). Robinson and his downhill running style should continue spelling CMC while receiving a handful of touches against the Saints next Sunday.
