Joel Embiid's struggles in 76ers-Nets were a yearly routine with better timing Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid struggled against the Brooklyn Nets in his preseason opener.

Danny Wolf - Another serviceable effort Thursday Wolf amassed nine points (4-7 FG, 1-2 3Pt), six rebounds and four assists in 16 minutes during Thursday's 114-108 preseason win over Philadelphia.
Impact Wolf came off the bench once again, a role that figures to stick come opening night. Both he and Moriz Wagner are likely to be battling for backup minutes behind Day'Ron Sharpe, although it would appear as though Wagner might have the inside running as the first big off the bench. With that said, neither have significant appeal in fantasy leagues, at least not to begin the season.
OCTOBER 9 • ROTOWIRE
Noah Clowney - Drops 11 points in spot start Clowney recorded 11 points (3-4 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 3-4 FT), one rebound, one steal and one block in 20 minutes during Thursday's 114-108 preseason win over the 76ers.
Impact Clowney moved into the starting lineup, replacing Michael Porter, who was out due to a wrist injury. Although Clowney ended as one of five Nets players to score double digits, the rest of his box score was a little empty. He is expected to play a bench role when the season gets underway, leaving him off the radar when it comes to standard fantasy leagues.

Egor Dëmin - Tallies 13 points in exhibition Demin finished with 13 points (5-13 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-3 FT), one rebound and five assists in 22 minutes during Thursday's 114-108 preseason win over the 76ers.
Impact Demin was one of four starters to score in double digits, though he needed 13 attempts from the field to do so. He also led the Nets with five dimes, a mark he's reached in each of his first two appearances of the preseason.
OCTOBER 9 • ROTOWIRE
Moritz Wagner - Starting vs. Philadelphia Wagner is in the starting lineup for Thursday's preseason game against the 76ers, Erik Slater of ClutchPoints.com reports.
Impact The Nets will be without Day'Ron Sharpe (shoulder) for this preseason contest, meaning Wagner will get the nod at center. It will be an opportunity to see how Wagner plays alongside Julius Randle, who will get the nod at power forward.
OCTOBER 8 • ROTOWIRE
Noah Clowney - Moving to starting role Thursday Clowney is in the starting lineup for Thursday's preseason game against the 76ers, Erik Slater of ClutchPoints.com reports.
Impact Clowney is expected to be a bench option in the regular season, but he'll get the starting nod Thursday because Michael Porter (wrist) won't start. Clowney is coming off a career-best 2025-26 season, averaging 12.3 points per game in 66 regular-season appearances, including 60 starts.

Joshua Jefferson - Ruled out Thursday Jefferson (back) will not play in Thursday's preseason game against the 76ers, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports.
Impact Jefferson will miss his second consecutive preseason contest after sitting out Tuesday's win over Charlotte. The rookie forward's return timeline remains unclear, and the missed time could limit his opportunities to compete for a rotation role ahead of the regular season.
OCTOBER 8 • ROTOWIRE
Mikel Brown Jr. - Another absence coming Brown (ankle) will miss Thursday's preseason game against Philadelphia, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports.
Impact Brown also missed Tuesday's preseason opener against Charlotte and has been working his way back into basketball activities after suffering the injury during training camp. Brooklyn has been cautious with the rookie guard's recovery, and he remains without a firm timetable for his preseason debut.
OCTOBER 8 • ROTOWIRE
Day'Ron Sharpe - Won't suit up Thursday Sharpe has been ruled out for Thursday's preseason matchup against Philadelphia due to left shoulder soreness, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports.
Impact The severity of Sharpe's shoulder issue remains unclear, though the team is likely being cautious for this exhibition. His absence could create additional frontcourt opportunities for Brooklyn's other big men during Thursday's contest.
OCTOBER 8 • ROTOWIRE
Michael Porter Jr. - Sitting out Thursday Porter will not play in Thursday's preseason game against Philadelphia due to left wrist soreness, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports.
Impact Porter's absence comes after he scored 16 points in Tuesday's preseason win over Charlotte. The Nets haven't indicated whether the wrist issue will affect his availability beyond Thursday, though his next opportunity to play will come in Brooklyn's next exhibition contest.

Michael Porter Jr. - Strong line in preseason Porter finished with 16 points (6-9 FG, 4-6 3Pt), five rebounds, two assists and one steal in 17 minutes during Tuesday's 124-90 preseason win over Charlotte.
Impact Porter started at small forward and led Brooklyn in scoring despite playing fewer than 17 minutes. His four three-pointers also led the Nets, and the veteran forward should remain one of Brooklyn's primary perimeter scoring threats this season.
OCTOBER 7 • ROTOWIRE
Nolan Traore - Scores 10 in 10 minutes Traore finished with 10 points (3-4 FG, 4-4 FT), two assists, one rebound and one steal in 10 minutes during Tuesday's 124-90 preseason win over Charlotte.
Impact Traore was productive during his brief stint and did all of his damage without attempting a three-pointer. The young guard faces considerable competition for backcourt minutes but made a strong first impression in limited preseason action.
OCTOBER 7 • ROTOWIRE
Drake Powell - Efficient in limited run Powell finished with nine points (4-6 FG, 1-1 3Pt), two rebounds, one assist and one steal in 13 minutes during Tuesday's 124-90 preseason win over the Hornets.
Impact Powell didn't commit a turnover and made the most of his limited opportunities, connecting on four of his six attempts from the field. The young wing will look to use the preseason to strengthen his case for a spot in Brooklyn's rotation after a tough 2025-26 campaign.
OCTOBER 7 • ROTOWIRE
Terance Mann - Hits two triples Tuesday Mann finished with six points (2-4 FG, 2-3 3Pt), two rebounds, two steals and one assist in 20 minutes during Tuesday's 124-90 preseason win over Charlotte.
Impact Mann received the most playing time of any Brooklyn reserve and provided some two-way production despite a quiet scoring night. The veteran wing should remain in the mix for a reserve role as the Nets sort through a deep group of perimeter options.
OCTOBER 7 • ROTOWIRE
Ben Saraf - Scores eight off bench Saraf finished with eight points (3-7 FG, 2-4 3Pt), two rebounds and two assists in 15 minutes during Tuesday's 124-90 preseason win over Charlotte.
Impact Saraf knocked down a pair of three-pointers and committed only one turnover during his limited run. The second-year guard is competing for minutes in a crowded Brooklyn backcourt and will look to build on an efficient preseason opener.
OCTOBER 7 • ROTOWIRE
Danny Wolf - Productive off bench Wolf finished with nine points (3-4 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-4 FT), five assists and three rebounds in 15 minutes during Tuesday's 124-90 preseason win over the Hornets.
Impact Wolf made the most of his limited playing time, with his five assists tying for the team lead. The second-year big showcased his versatility as a passer while also connecting on his lone three-point attempt.
