Michael Helman - Scratched with minor injury Helman was scratched from Saturday's Cactus League game due to a groin/hip injury, Matthew Postins of SI.com reports.
Impact Helman's injury isn't considered serious, as his removal from the starting lineup was precautionary. Specifics regarding the injury are uncertain, but it's an issue in his groin or hip area. The 29-year-old appeared in 38 games last season with the Rangers, slashing .232/.290/.455 with five home runs and four stolen bases across 110 plate appearances.

Cody Freeman - Suffers back fracture Freeman was diagnosed with a lower-back fracture Saturday, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Impact Freeman will remain sidelined for 4-6 weeks before the Rangers reevaluate him, which will almost certainly cause him to miss the entire Cactus League schedule and could force him to begin the regular season on the injured list. The 25-year-old infielder had been in the running to land a spot on the Rangers' bench, but his injury will open the door for other players like Ezequiel Duran, Sam Haggerty and Justin Foscue to pick up reps during spring training games.

Winston Santos - Out for four weeks Santos will be sidelined for four weeks after sustaining a fracture in his non-throwing hand, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Impact Santos was hit by a comebacker earlier this week, and he'll be sidelined for roughly a month. The 23-year-old appeared in just six games last season, making five starts at Double-A Frisco and one start at Triple-A Round Rock. He allowed 13 earned runs across 17.1 innings.

Josh Smith - Starts at 2B in opener Smith started at second base and went 1-for-2 with a double and a run scored in Friday's spring opener against the Royals.
Impact After the Rangers traded second baseman Marcus Semien during the offseason, Smith's name was part of the group in line to compete for second base. The super-utility player recently confirmed he's been preparing to play the keystone since Semien's departure. Whether or not he becomes the primary second baseman, at the very least, Smith should be a regular presence in the lineup against right-handers at some position.

Wyatt Langford - Offseason work targeted obliques Langford engaged in offseason workouts designed to strengthen his core and obliques, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.
Impact Langford endured three separate stints on the injured list last year due to oblique-related issues. The outfielder attempted to address a repeat occurrence during the winter months. "I did way more like rotational stuff, like med ball type throws and rotational lifts, versus last year," the outfielder said. "I just had a better idea of what I was doing." Langford made leaps from his rookie 2024 season to 2025, increasing his OPS (from .740 to .775), OPS+ (115 to 127) and bWAR (3.9 to 5.6).

Justin Foscue - Trying to increase versatility Rangers manager Skip Schumaker said Thursday that Foscue will be given some reps in the outfield during spring training, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Impact Foscue has played only in the infield both in college at Mississippi State and since entering pro ball, but increasing his versatility gives him a better chance to make the team in a reserve role. The 24-year-old is working his way back from a right lat strain, but barring any setbacks in his throwing program, he could be ready to make his Cactus League debut at some point within the next couple of weeks. Though he lacks much big-league experience with just six appearances to his name, Church possesses some of the best stuff of any of the Rangers' relief arms and could enter the high-leverage mix at some point in 2026.

He posted a 9.00 ERA, 2.00 WHIP and 23:17 K:BB in 18 innings with Triple-A Round Rock in 2025 and will likely be headed back to the affiliate to begin the 2026 campaign.
