Kyle Harrison - Strong in seventh win Harrison (7-5) allowed a run on five hits and two walks while striking out five over six innings to earn the win Monday over the White Sox.
Impact This was Harrison's first quality start over four outings in August, though facing the lowly White Sox worked in his favor. The southpaw has allowed 12 runs over 19.1 innings this month. For the season, he's at a 4.00 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 108:38 K:BB over 117 innings through 22 starts. Harrison's previous high for innings in a single year was 113 in 2022, but with the Giants just hanging on in the wild-card race, it's unlikely he gets his workload managed any time soon. He's projected to make his next start on the road at light-hitting Seattle this weekend.

Patrick Bailey - Believes injury is minor Bailey (side) stated after Monday's game against the White Sox that his removal from the starting lineup was precautionary, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.
Impact This appears to be a minor issue for Bailey, and he'll continue to be labeled day-to-day until further notice. Curt Casali would likely be in line for another start behind the plate Tuesday if Bailey can't go.

Impact Small was shut down in March due to a right oblique strain and was subsequently placed on the 60-day injured list. He's since completed a rehab assignment at Triple-A and will remain in Sacramento following Friday's transaction.

Impact Arteaga missed time earlier in the year while on the mend from thoracic outlet syndrome surgery, but he's since been cleared for action and has reported to High-A Eugene. He's yet to record a hit in 16 at-bats since being activated, drawing a pair of walks while striking out six times over four games.

Impact The move makes room on the 26-man roster for the reinstatement of Thairo Estrada (wrist) from the 10-day injured list. Wisely has been with the big club since May, but he saw his playing time diminish since the All-Star break, a span in which he's slashed .167/.207/.204 with six RBI across 56 plate appearances. Wisely will have an every day role in Sacramento, and he could return to the majors should the Giants need infield depth.

Impact Conforto entered the game as a pinch hitter in the 10th and extended the Giants' lead with a solo blast off Dany Jimenez. The home run was his third this month but just his second extra-base hit since Aug. 6. He's hitting just .190 with 10 strikeouts over his last 26 plate appearances and the home run was his first RBI since Aug. 9. Impact Walker entered in the bottom of the ninth looking to send the game to extras with the score tied 1-1. He successfully did so and then came back out for the bottom of the 10th with a 4-1 lead after the Giants tacked on three. Walker found himself in a jam with the bases loaded and nobody out and struck out three batters in a row to seal the deal. He's now put together eight straight outings without giving up an earned run and has piled up three holds, a win and a save while posting a 14:2 K:BB over that span. Blake Snell - Posts another dominant outing Snell did not factor into the decision in Sunday's win over the Athletics, allowing one run on six hits and two walks while striking out 10 over seven innings.
Impact Snell was engaged in a pitcher's duel with J.P. Sears for much of the game. The first run was eventually scored by the Athletics in the sixth inning and that's all Snell would give up. He did find himself in a bases loaded jam in the seventh with one out but was able to get out of it unharmed. Over his last eight starts, Snell has posted a 1.03 ERA, 0.69 WHIP and 70:16 K:BB in 52.1 innings. He leads MLB starting pitchers in ERA and is tied for first in WHIP over that span. Snell also has double-digit strikeouts in four of his last five starts. For the year, the 31-year-old owns a 3.67 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 101:30 K:BB in 76 innings. He lines up for a home matchup against the Mariners his next time out.
