Bryson Stott - Homers, steals in win
Stott went 2-for-5 with a home run, three RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Pirates.
Impact
Stott did all of his damage between the third and fourth innings, including a 411-foot solo homer. The second baseman has gone just 11-for-55 in May, though he has hit safely in four of his past five games. He's slashing .263/.329/.397 with four home runs, 24 RBI, 24 runs scored and nine steals across 174 plate appearances this season and continues to hit leadoff against right-handed starters.

The veteran hurler has now logged 16 consecutive scoreless frames and has recorded a quality start in each of his past six outings. José Alvarado - Picks up seventh save
Alvarado retired the final two batters of the ninth inning to collect a save in Friday's win over the Pirates.
Impact
The Phillies began the ninth inning with Daniel Robert on the mound in a non-save situation, but after the 30-year-old reliever walked in a run, Alvarado entered the game with an 8-4 lead and the bases loaded with one out. He needed just six pitches to put an end to Pittsburgh's late rally and pick up his seventh save of the young season. He now owns a 2.70 ERA and 1.20 WHIP through 20 frames.

Ranger Suárez - Delivers quality start in win
Suarez (2-0) earned the win over the Pirates on Friday, giving up three earned runs on six hits and a walk while striking out six batters across seven innings.
Impact
Suarez had a shutout going after five innings Friday, but things quickly changed after Alexander Canario hit a three-run homer in the sixth. Suarez left the game with the Phillies in a 3-1 hole, but a well-timed four-run rally from Philadelphia's offense in the bottom of the seventh allowed him to collect his second win of the season. The 29-year-old has now given up three earned runs in 14 innings across his last two starts and is lined up for a favorable matchup against Colorado's poor offense next week.

Moisés Chace - Needs Tommy John surgery
Phillies manager Rob Thomson said Friday that Chace will undergo Tommy John surgery, Lochlahn March of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Impact
Chace made six starts with Double-A Reading this season before blowing out his elbow, collecting a 3.24 ERA and 19:12 K:BB over 16.2 innings. The 21-year-old will likely be sidelined until around midseason next year.

Daniel Robert - Back in big leagues
The Phillies recalled Robert from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Friday.
Impact
Robert was just sent down earlier this week after serving as the 27th man in Wednesday's doubleheader against the Cardinals. He has returned to fill the roster spot vacated by Aaron Nola (ankle).

Taijuan Walker - Re-entering rotation
Walker will re-enter the Phillies' rotation next week in Colorado in place of the injured Aaron Nola (ankle), Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.
Impact
The Phillies haven't revealed the exact day Walker will slot in, but he will receive at least a couple starts while Nola is sidelined. Walker pitched well in the rotation earlier this season, collecting a 2.54 ERA and 22: 13 K:BB over 28.1 innings covering six starts. He has since made two long relief appearances, allowing a total of three runs (two earned) over six innings.

Mick Abel - Making MLB debut Sunday
The Phillies will call up Abel to start Sunday's game against the Pirates, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
Impact
The right-hander will be called up for a spot start Sunday with Aaron Nola (ankle) landing on the injured list. Abel won't stick around in the majors, however, since Taijuan Walker will fill Nola's spot in the rotation next week in Colorado. Abel is one of the organization's top prospects and has a 2.53 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 51:19 K:BB across 46.1 innings at Triple-A Lehigh Valley this year.

ROTOWIRE
Aaron Nola - Goes on IL with sprained ankle
The Phillies placed Nola on the 15-day injured list Friday with a right ankle sprain, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.
Impact
Nola evidently suffered the injury prior to his start in Cleveland last week, which could at least partly explain why he's coughed up a whopping 13 runs over 8.2 innings in his last two outings. He will be eligible to return May 30, but it's unclear whether he will be ready to go on that date. Mick Abel is making a spot start in Nola's place Sunday versus the Pirates before Taijuan Walker re-enters the rotation.
