Max Castillo - Dumped from 40-man roster The Phillies designated Castillo for assignment Friday.
Impact The 25-year-old was sent to Triple-A Lehigh Valley late in spring training after being claimed off waivers from the Red Sox, but he's now been jettisoned from the Phillies' 40-man roster. Castillo struggled to an 8.37 ERA, 1.93 WHIP and 37:24 K:BB over 42 innings (10 starts) at Triple-A.

Max Lazar - Joins big club The Phillies selected Lazar's contract from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Friday.
Impact The 25-year-old will join Philadelphia for his first look in the big leagues, taking the roster spot of Kolby Allard, who was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move. Lazar has pitched well for Lehigh Valley this season with 10 saves and a 2.40 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 35:9 K:BB across 30 innings.

Impact Allard made two starts and one bulk relief appearance, posting a 3.46 ERA and 8:2 K:BB over 13 innings. With Taijuan Walker (finger) poised to return next week, Allard wasn't going to be needed as a rotation fill-in anymore.

Impact The 27-year-old was claimed off waivers from the Giants late May but was designated for assignment before receiving a look in the big leagues. Stevenson has spent the past two months at Lehigh Valley, where he has a .304/.419/.484 slash line with seven homers and 27 steals in 90 games. He'll provide outfield depth as Austin Hays (hamstring) heads to the injured list.

Impact Hays suffered the injury in Wednesday's game against the Dodgers and hasn't made enough progress to avoid the IL. It's not clear at this point how long he might be sidelined. While Hays is out, the Phillies figure to go with Brandon Marsh in left field and Johan Rojas in center field most days.

J.T. Realmuto - Homer, two hits in win Realmuto went 2-for-5 with a double, a solo homer and two runs scored in Thursday's win over the Diamondbacks.
Impact Realmuto went hitless in his first at-bats before crushing a 430-foot home run to lead off the seventh and extend Philadelphia's lead to two runs. The backstop would also add a leadoff double in the ninth before coming around to score a second time, marking his first game with two scored since May 22 against the Rangers. The long ball was also his first since May and he's still batting just .167 (4-for-24) in August following the two-hit effort. On a positive note, Realmuto has now driven in a run in three of his last four contests.

Carlos Estévez - Records first save as a Philly Estevez picked up the save over the Diamondbacks on Thursday, allowing one run on two hits over one inning while striking out two.
Impact Estevez entered the game with a three-run lead in the bottom of the ninth and surrendered a leadoff single to Geraldo Perdomo before getting the next two batters to go down on strikes. The recently-acquired reliever would then cough up an RBI single to Jake McCarthy, but the bleeding stopped there as Estevez went on to retire the final batter for his 22nd save of the season and his first in a Phillies uniform. It marked the first earned run charged to Estevez since May 20 against Astros (as a member of the Angels) and he's now recorded at least one strikeout in each of his last four appearances.

Kolby Allard - Solid showing in first win Allard (1-0) picked up the win over Arizona on Thursday, allowing one run on six hits over five innings while striking out three. He did not issue any walks.
Impact Allard managed to keep the Diamondbacks off the board through the first four innings, allowing just three singles over that stretch before surrendering a solo homer to Eugenio Suarez with one out in the fifth. The 26-year-old lefty would still end up making it through the frame to post his longest outing of the campaign, while also going on to secure his first win. Allard has now held his opponents to three or fewer runs in each of his two starts and now holds a 8:2 K:BB on the season.

Impact Suarez has been out since July 27 due to lower-back soreness, but he has been making steady progress in his recovery. Manager Rob Thomson described Thursday's session as having gone "extremely well," but the left-hander isn't expected to be ready to return until after the team's upcoming homestand ending Aug. 18.
