Excellent again Tuesday
Perez (4-2) earned the victory, striking out five in seven shutout innings while allowing three hits and no walks in a 3-0 win Tuesday over Tampa Bay.
Impact
Perez retired the last 16 batters he faced en route to his fourth consecutive victory. It was the eighth straight start where the veteran allowed one earned run or fewer and pitched at least six innings. One of the best stories in all of baseball to start the season, the lefty is pacing the American League with a 1.42 ERA and 63.1 innings pitched. He's yet to allow a long ball in 2022 after allowing 1.3 homers per nine innings over the previous five seasons.

Continues dominant streak
Perez didn't factor into the decision during Thursday's 4-1 win over Oakland, allowing one run on four hits and two walks with six strikeouts in seven innings.
Impact
For the seventh straight start, Perez limited the opposing offense to one run or less as Oakland was only able to scratch across one run in the fourth inning. Despite the excellent stretch, Perez has only won three starts despite a 1.12 ERA across 48.1 innings as Texas is scoring just 3.7 runs per game during the streak. A 3.65 xFIP indicates Perez's 1.60 season ERA stands to increase some, though he'll look to keep the momentum rolling against Tampa Bay next week.

Twirls shutout
Perez (3-2) earned the win during Friday's 3-2 victory over Houston, allowing eight hits and one walk with five strikeouts in a complete game shutout.
Impact
Perez had been pitching well lately but took his game to new heights Friday, keeping a potent Astros offense off the board in spinning only the third shutout of 2022. The 31-year-old tossed a season-high 108 pitches with only 13 of 73 strikes of the swinging variety, however the most impressive accomplishment was manager Chris Woodward's trust after the tying run came to the plate in the ninth inning. Since two poor outings to open the season, Perez has allowed just three earned runs over his last 41.1 innings across six starts and owns a 1.64 ERA and 1.01 WHIP with a 38:12 K:BB in 49.1 innings. He'll go for an encore against Oakland late next weekend.

Earns second straight win
Perez (2-2) allowed a run on five hits and two walks while striking out seven in six innings to earn the win Sunday against the Red Sox.
Impact
Perez recorded his fifth consecutive quality start during Sunday's outing, and he picked up his second straight victory. The 31-year-old allowed seven runs (six earned) in eight innings over his first two starts of the season but has posted a 0.84 ERA in 32.1 innings over his last five outings. He projects to make his next start on the road against Houston on Friday.

Excellent, again, in win
Perez (1-2) earned the win and struck out six in 6.1 innings while allowing four runs (one earned) on five hits in a 6-4 victory Tuesday over Kansas City.
Impact
Perez faced the minimum through the first four innings, erasing the lone single allowed on a double-play ball. In the fifth, two hits led to an earned run. The lefty likely could have completed the seventh inning unscathed but consecutive errors by Charlie Culberson to begin the frame led to three unearned runs. Over his last four starts, he has a remarkable 0.68 ERA and 0.68 WHIP in 26.1 innings. His next start will likely be early next week against the Angels.

Another solid outing
Perez tossed seven scoreless inning on four hits during Wednesday's 2-1 win over the Phillies, but he didn't factor into the decision. He struck out four and walked four.
Impact
Perez scattered eight baserunners across seven innings thanks to three double-plays from the Rangers infield. After allowing six earned runs over his first two outings, the veteran lefty has surrendered just one run over his last 20 innings. During that stretch, Perez has given up just eight hits and sports a 13:5 K:BB.

Phenomenal in no-decision
Perez allowed one run on two hits in seven innings, striking out four in a 3-2 loss Thursday against Houston. He did not factor into the decision.
Impact
After being perfect through six innings, Perez allowed a leadoff double and a two-out RBI single in the seventh. The lefty was incredibly efficient, needing only 77 pitches to complete seven full frames. The last two games have been masterfully pitched by the 31-year-old, allowing just one run on four hits in 13 innings. However, he's compiled an ERA below four just once in his MLB career, during his first stint in Texas when he posted a 3.62 ERA in 2013.

Six scoreless in no-decision
Perez allowed two hits and one walk while striking out five over six scoreless innings in a no-decision against the A's on Saturday.
Impact
This was just the second start of Perez's career with six-plus scoreless innings and two hits or fewer allowed, and Perez became the first Texas starter this season to record an out in the sixth inning or later, per play-by-play broadcaster Jared Sandler. Given his track record, Perez must still be considered a high-risk option. The onus is on Perez to show he can do this with some sort of consistency, and against better offenses.

Tagged with loss again
Perez (0-2) was tagged with the loss Sunday against the Angels after allowing four runs (three earned) on five hits and three walks while fanning five across four innings.
Impact
Perez allowed three earned runs across four frames for the second straight outing and once again showed command issues after issuing three walks. The 31-year-old southpaw has been struggling to begin the season, as he has allowed seven runs (six earned) on 12 hits and four walks while fanning seven over his first eight innings this year. He'll look to bounce back in his next start, scheduled for Saturday at Oakland.
