Yosver Zulueta - Pushed back to Triple-A The Reds optioned Zulueta to Triple-A Louisville on Thursday.
Impact With Graham Ashcraft (forearm) and Chase Burns (elbow) both returning from the injured list Thursday, the Reds will move Zulueta and Lyon Richardson to Triple-A in order to create roster space. Zulueta gave up two runs over two innings during his latest stint with Cincinnati, elevating his big-league ERA to 6.14 through 7.1 frames.

Graham Ashcraft - Makes return from IL The Reds activated Ashcraft (forearm) from the 15-day injured list Thursday.
Impact Ashcraft was shelved for the past two weeks with a right forearm strain, but he'll skip a rehab assignment and rejoin the Reds' bullpen for their weekend series against the Athletics. The right-hander has posted a 3.72 ERA and 56:24 K:BB over 58 innings in 2025 in his first season as a full-time reliever.

Chase Burns - Activated from injured list The Reds activated Burns (elbow) from the 15-day injured list Thursday.
Impact Burns wound up missing a month of action with a Grade 1 right flexor strain. He did not go out on a rehab assignment, and the Reds' plan is to deploy the rookie flamethrower as a reliever down the stretch. While Burns is likely to be quite successful in a relief role, he will not be used as the team's closer, so it will be difficult for him to churn out much fantasy value in the final weeks.

Lyon Richardson - Sent to Triple-A The Reds optioned Richardson to Triple-A Louisville on Thursday.
Impact Richardson will be sent down to the minors alongside Yosver Zulueta in order to make room on the active roster for Graham Ashcraft (forearm) and Chase Burns (elbow), both of whom returned from the injured list Thursday. Richardson, 25, surrendered three earned runs in one inning during his lone appearance since being promoted Sept. 3 and now carries a 4.54 ERA and 1.54 WHIP through 37.2 MLB frames.

Cam Collier - Power sapped at Double-A Collier is slashing .342/.435/.430 with one home run, four doubles, a 14.1 percent walk rate and an 18.5 percent strikeout rate in his last 21 games for Double-A Chattanooga.
Impact Collier, who underwent left thumb surgery in mid-March, was activated June 3 for High-A Dayton and then quickly promoted to Chattanooga, as he had already mastered High-A to close 2024. The thumb issue appears to have sapped Collier's power this season, as he hit 20 homers in 119 games last year and has three homers in 92 games this year, with just one of those coming in 71 games at Double-A. Given that Collier's plate skills have improved as the season has gone on, and that he has shown plus raw power as a teenager in the past, he's a worthwhile buy-low target this offseason. The lefty-hitting first baseman should split his age-21 season between Double-A and Triple-A.

Tyler Stephenson - Stars two straight games Stephenson started at catcher and went 0-for-4 in Wednesday's 2-1 win over the Padres.
Impact Stephenson, who recently returned from a fractured thumb, was in the starting lineup for a second straight game. It was the first time that he played in back-to-back contests since his return, and Stephenson operated as the catcher in both. Since returning, he's 2-for-14 with a double, a home run and four RBI over five games.

Miguel Andujar - Limited by quad injury Andujar has been limited to designated hitter and pinch-hitting duties by a quad injury, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.
Impact Andujar was a stellar under-the-radar trade deadline acquisition, rolling to a .388/.444/.673 slash line in his first 16 games with Cincinnati. It was at that time, the quad injury popped up. This explains his limited usage the last few weeks, but the bat remains helpful. Andujar has gone 7-for-21 (.333) with three RBI and .772 OPS over the last eight contests. He also had the game-winning knock as a pinch hitter in Wednesday's 2-1 win over the Padres.

Chase Burns - Will return to bullpen Burns (elbow) will initially pitch out of the bullpen upon his expected activation Friday, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.
Impact Burns will be limited in his innings and usage but could make a serious impact as a reliever. The right-hander can pair a triple-digit fastball and wipeout slider in short outings. Burns has worked his way back from a flexor tendon strain that's kept him on the injured list since Aug. 15 (retroactive to Aug. 12).

Tony Santillan - Records save Wednesday Santillan notched a save against San Diego on Wednesday, allowing one hit and striking out one batter in a scoreless ninth inning.
Impact After Cincinnati finally got to Padres pitching with a pair of runs in the eighth inning to go up 2-1, Santillan was summoned in the ninth to protect the tenuous lead. The right-hander surrendered a leadoff double to Gavin Sheets but bounced back to retired the following three hitters in order, finishing off the save with a strikeout of Bryce Johnson. Santillan has registered a save in two of three appearances spanning the past four days. However, Emilio Pagan is probably still the favorite for saves out of the Reds' bullpen -- he wasn't used Wednesday, but that may have been because he appeared each of the previous two days.

Andrew Abbott - Snaps winless stretch Wednesday Abbott (9-6) earned the win over San Diego on Wednesday, allowing one run on five hits and two walks while striking out six batters over eight innings.
Impact Abbott entered Wednesday having gone 0-3 with an 8.56 ERA over his previous three contests and hadn't notched a victory in any of his past nine starts. The southpaw got back into the win column with a gem against the Padres, completing eight frames for the second time this season and giving up just one run (on a Fernando Tatis homer). Abbott was efficient in getting through the eighth on 102 pitches, and he racked up 15 whiffs. He now holds a 2.79 ERA, 11th-best among qualified MLB pitchers, through 26 outings spanning 151.2 innings on the campaign.
