Zach McCambley - Demoted to minors The Reds optioned McCambley to Triple-A Louisville on Wednesday, Gordon Wittenmyer of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Impact After turning in scoreless showings in his first two major-league appearances, McCambley was touched up for three runs in an inning of work in his last outing Monday in San Diego. His spot on the roster and in the bullpen is being absorbed by Chase Petty.

Edwin Arroyo - Taking seat Wednesday Arroyo is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Padres.

Impact Since being called up from Triple-A Louisville on June 1, Arroyo has started in six of the Reds' ensuing nine games but hasn't gotten going at the plate. Spencer Steer will get the nod at second base Wednesday over Arroyo, who has begun his big-league career by going 5-for-22 (.227 average) with no extra-base hits and a 2:9 BB:K. Dane Myers - Nabs steal Tuesday Myers went 1-for-3 with a stolen base in Tuesday's 5-3 extra-innings win over the Padres.

Impact Myers didn't start the contest but came in as a pinch hitter in the seventh inning. He has hit safely in his last four games, going 5-for-9 in that span after an 0-for-6 stretch over his previous four contests. On the year, Myers is batting .269 with a .770 OPS, three home runs, four steals, 12 RBI and 17 runs scored through 108 plate appearances. He continues to play in a short-side platoon role in center field.

Impact McLain was held hitless for just the second time over his seven games in June, but he still made an impact when he got on base. The trio of steals were his first attempts since he swiped a bag May 18 versus the Phillies. McLain is up to 10 thefts this season, and he's hitting .209 with a .684 OPS, eight home runs, 25 RBI and 28 runs scored through 63 contests. He's on pace to improve on virtually all of his counting stats from last year, save for runs, but his ratios remain a bit low.

Impact Maxwell's last outing was a four-run meltdown versus the Cardinals on Friday. He bounced back well this time, locking down his first career save in the 11th inning after Tejay Antone failed to do so in the 10th. Maxwell has a 13.50 ERA through six innings this season, but he's tossed three scoreless outings out of six appearances, offset by a pair of four-run disasters. He's not a candidate for high-leverage work under normal circumstances even as the Reds use a committee to handle closing duties until Emilio Pagan (hamstring) returns. Maxwell is the ninth pitcher to log a save for Cincinnati this season.

Impact Stewart's blast came in the 11th inning, and it was enough to put the Reds ahead for good. He had gone 15 games without a homer prior to Tuesday, batting just .218 with four doubles and six RBI in that span. For the season, Stewart is hitting .254 with an .815 OPS, 13 long balls, 42 RBI, 36 runs scored, 10 stolen bases and 13 doubles across 66 contests.
