Rejoining rotation Quantrill is slated to start Tuesday's game against the Orioles, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Impact A lighter schedule of games last allowed Cleveland to move Quantrill to the bullpen following his June 6 start -- also against Baltimore -- but he'll be needed in the rotation again while the Tribe is in the midst of a stretch of 12 games in 12 days. Given that Quantrill hasn't tossed more than 60 pitches in any of his 20 appearances with the big club this season, fantasy managers shouldn't expect him to work more than four or five innings Tuesday.

Heads back to bullpen Quantrill worked out of the bullpen Wednesday in Cleveland's 8-2 loss to St. Louis, striking out two over two scoreless frames while giving up one run and one walk.

Impact Quantrill had started in both his previous two outings, but Cleveland opted to temporarily move him out of the rotation after he was lit up for seven runs (five earned) while recording just four outs in a June 6 loss to the Orioles. The right-handed fared better while coming on in relief Wednesday after No. 3 starter Jean Carlos Mejia couldn't make it out of the first inning. Cleveland is expected to add Triston McKenzie from Triple-A Columbus this weekend to step in as the team's fourth starter, but the club will have a need for a No. 5 starter beginning next week while Zach Plesac (thumb) remains on the injured list. Quantrill and Sam Hentges -- who previously made four starts before moving to the bullpen -- could be the leading candidates to fill the opening in the rotation.

Impact Quantrill was effective in his first start of the season Monday, but he struggled Sunday. He gave up a solo home run in the first inning and was pulled with one out in the second inning after he gave up four more runs. The right-hander has now posted a 3.41 ERA and 1.39 WHIP in 31.2 innings across 19 appearances (two starts) this year. If he remains in the rotation, he tentatively lines up to make his next start at home against the Mariners on Saturday.
