Impact Sunday's outing was the right-hander's longest since he rejoined Cleveland's rotation June 15. Quantrill has still allowed 13 runs in his last 13 innings, but he's likely to continue as a starter while Cleveland's top three pitchers work their way back from injuries. Through 55.2 innings this year, Quantrill has a 4.20 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 42:19 K:BB. He lines up for his next start versus Kansas City.

He allowed a pair of runs in the second inning and another before exiting in the fourth, with the final run on his ledger crossing the plate after his departure. Impact Cleveland spotted Quantrill a three-run lead in the first inning, but he couldn't stop Minnesota's comeback. The right-hander allowed a two-run home run to Alex Kirilloff in the third inning. Quantrill worked into trouble again in the fifth, and reliever Nick Sandlin allowed an inherited runner to score. Through 47 innings this year, Quantrill has a 3.64 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 36:15 K:BB. He'll likely continue to hold a spot in the rotation as Cleveland's top three starters are all injured. The 26-year-old lines up to face Detroit next week.

He turned in a strong showing as a starter in Tuesday's win over the Orioles, striking out four and allowing one run over four innings. Cleveland capped Quantrill at 60 pitches in that outing, so he likely won't be asked to push far past that level this weekend, especially since he'll be returning to the mound on short rest.

Impact Aside from giving up an RBI double to Maikel Franco in the second inning, Quantrill looked strong in what was expected to be another abbreviated outing. The 26-year-old has yet to throw more than 60 pitches in any of his 21 appearances this year, and Tuesday was no different as he tossed 41 of his 60 pitches for strikes. Quantrill has shifted between the rotation and the bullpen this season, including his last outing when he pitched two scoreless innings in relief against St. Louis. Overall, the right-hander has compiled a 3.11 ERA and 1.30 WHIP. He potentially lines up for a road start at Pittsburgh next week.
