Bid to join playoff falls short
Hojgaard shot a five-under 67 in the final round of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship to finish in a share of third place.
Impact
Hojgaard pulled off one of the best shots of the week on the 72nd hole. Needing an eagle to have any chance of a playoff, the Dane put his approach from over 280 yards away to within 20 feet. The putt was perfect speed, but just left an inch out on the high side. Hojgaard would have to ultimately settle for a share of third with Rory McIlroy. Hojgaard has now won in 2025, but now has his fourth top-4 finish of the year across both the PGA Tour and DP World Tour. He will look to close things out strong next week at the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai where he has finished T4 and 1st on two previous occasions.

T14 in Japan
Hojgaard fired a seven-under 64 on Sunday at the Baycurrent Classic to finish 10-under and tied for 14th.
Impact
Hojgaard's short game was on point en route to nine final-round birdies at Yokohama Country Club, gaining 2.11 strokes around the green while also averaging an impressive 1.39 putts per GIR on Sunday. He ended the event ranked ninth among the field in total feet of putts made, and Hojgaard remains 80th in the FedExCup Fall standings with his first top-15 on the PGA Tour since The Open Championship.

T2 finish at British Masters
Hojgaard finished in a share of second place at the Betfred British Masters after shooting a five-under 67 in the final round.
Impact
Hojgaard threw everything he could at it, put ultimately ended up just one stroke shy of forcing a playoff with Alex Noren. It's been an up-and-down 2025 season for the Dane, but this is now his third top-five finish of the campaign. Hojgaard is now up to 20th in the DP World Tour standings and will likely play quite a bit this fall as he chases a Race to Dubai title. He ended the FedExCup season at 73rd in the standings and is in good shape to maintain full playing status on the PGA Tour as well. Hojgaard will look to add another top finish next week at the Omega European Masters and make it hard for Captain Luke Donald to pass on him for a Ryder Cup spot.

Top-15 finish in The Open
Hojgaard carded a two-under par 69 in the final round of The Open Championship to finish in a tie for 14th place.
Impact
Hojgaard handled himself brilliantly this week from start to finish carding four straight rounds of two-under par 69. This consistent play and ability to avoid the bogeys and double bogeys allowed Hojgaard to keep in striking distance of the lead through the championship. In fact he finished the week tied for fifth in amount of bogeys made (6), and only made one double bogey for the week. However, while he avoided the big numbers, he didn't make enough birdies to make a run. He finish tied for 23rd in total birdies made for the championship (16). This finish now makes it two straight top-15 finishes, and three straight top-25 finishes. Hojgaard is trending in a nice direction, and given his good ball striking of late, it will be nice to see how Hojgaard finishes the season.

Earns spot in Open Championship
Hojgaard fired a six-under 64 in the final round of the Open Championship to finish in a share of fourth place.
Impact
Hojgaard's strong Sunday also helped him clinch a spot in the Open Championship next week at Royal Portrush. Hojgaard led the field in driving distance this week at The Renaissance Club, and was also 11th in SG: Putting. It's been a tough go of it the last few months for the Dane apart from a runner-up at the Zurich Classic, but Hojgaard is a very talented player and wants to make the Ryder Cup team later this year. He'll look to take some momentum into The Open.

Just misses out on Truist
Hojgaard fell out of the Aon Swing 5 and will not tee it up at the Truist Championship next week, PGA Tour Communications reports.
Impact
Hojgaard was just beat out by his brother Rasmus Hojgaard in the final spot of the Aon Swing 5 after the duo scored a solo second at the Zurich Classic. The difference was Nicolai finishing T56 at the Byron Nelson and Rasmus' 48th place finish. Nicolai will take next week off and not play at Myrtle Beach either as he gets ready for the PGA Championship.
