Top-15 finish in The Open Hojgaard carded a two-under par 69 in the final round of The Open Championship to finish in a tie for 14th place.

Impact Hojgaard handled himself brilliantly this week from start to finish carding four straight rounds of two-under par 69. This consistent play and ability to avoid the bogeys and double bogeys allowed Hojgaard to keep in striking distance of the lead through the championship. In fact he finished the week tied for fifth in amount of bogeys made (6), and only made one double bogey for the week. However, while he avoided the big numbers, he didn't make enough birdies to make a run. He finish tied for 23rd in total birdies made for the championship (16). This finish now makes it two straight top-15 finishes, and three straight top-25 finishes. Hojgaard is trending in a nice direction, and given his good ball striking of late, it will be nice to see how Hojgaard finishes the season.

Impact Hojgaard's strong Sunday also helped him clinch a spot in the Open Championship next week at Royal Portrush. Hojgaard led the field in driving distance this week at The Renaissance Club, and was also 11th in SG: Putting. It's been a tough go of it the last few months for the Dane apart from a runner-up at the Zurich Classic, but Hojgaard is a very talented player and wants to make the Ryder Cup team later this year. He'll look to take some momentum into The Open.

Impact Hojgaard withdrew prior to the Charles Schwab Challenge after a 2-T56-T41 stretch from the Zurich Classic of New Orleans through the PGA Championship, but he'll return to tournament action this week at TPC Toronto. The 24-year-old's recent T41 at Quail Hollow was highlighted by 4.5 strokes gained on approach, while he also gained another 3.2 strokes on the greens in Charlotte.

Impact Hojgaard is the most recent withdrawal from the Charles Schwab Challenge, and in his place is William Mouw. The former scored two over par during the 2025 PGA Championship, which turned out to be a better tournament for him in terms of overall positioning.

Impact Hojgaard was just beat out by his brother Rasmus Hojgaard in the final spot of the Aon Swing 5 after the duo scored a solo second at the Zurich Classic. The difference was Nicolai finishing T56 at the Byron Nelson and Rasmus' 48th place finish. Nicolai will take next week off and not play at Myrtle Beach either as he gets ready for the PGA Championship.

Impact The Danish twins missed the cut together in this event last year, but they were determined to not have the same result again this time around. After a 13-under 59 in the opening round of best ball, the Hojgaard's stayed in contention the rest of the week, but ultimately would fall just one shot shy of earning their first PGA Tour victories. There was a bit of luck involved on a drop on the 72nd hole, but it worked out to where they were able to make birdie and secure the solo second. It's been a slow start for both players, but this big haul of points will move Nicolai into 75th in the FedExCup standings. He will look to carry that momentum into the next individual event next week at THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson.

Impact Hojgaard maybe could have been in the mix for the win had he finished better than 55th in SG: Putting. That said, he had a great ball-striking performance at 10th in SG: Approach and second in GIR percentage. Hojgaard put up some good finishes on the DP World Tour in the fall, but this is his first top-10 on the PGA Tour since the Farmers Insurance Open in early 2024. The Dane is a very talented player and he will look to find more results like this going forward. Hojgaard is listed in the field for next week's Cognizant Classic.
