GAME LOG
DNP with stomach bug
Singleton did not end up playing in Saturday's win over UCLA due to a stomach bug, per the Big Ten Network broadcast.
Impact
Singleton was announced as a co-starter with Kaytron Allen before the game but was ultimately held out with precaution. He should be ready to go as normal for next week's crucial showdown against USC.

Announced as starter
Singleton (undisclosed) was just announced as a starting running back ahead of Saturday's game against UCLA, Richard Scarcella of the Reading Eagle reports.
Impact
Singleton looks like he'll be good to play as previous reports suggested earlier this week. The junior running back is off to a flying start, rushing 53 times for 408 yards and six touchdowns through four games and should be in for another positive game script against a weak Bruins team.

Spotted warming up
Singleton (undisclosed) is in uniform and warming up ahead of Penn State's tilt with UCLA, Seth Engle of The Daily Collegian reports.
Impact
Singleton was listed as questionable, but it's a good sign that he's warming up in uniform. He'll likely be a game-time decision, but the running back is trending towards playing against the Bruins.

Downgraded to questionable
Singleton (undisclosed) is now listed as questionable for Saturday's game against UCLA.
Impact
Singleton's status remains in question despite earlier reports suggesting that he was expected to play. Coach James Franklin has been adamant this week that Singleton's injury isn't serious and that it shouldn't expect his availability. His official status will be worth monitoring leading up to kickoff.

Expected to play Saturday
Singleton (undisclosed) is expected to play Saturday against UCLA, Matt Zenitz of 247Sports.com reports.
Impact
Singleton's status for this week was in question after he wasn't present for the media viewing period of practice on Wednesday. However, there's nothing serious about him, and he's expected to handle his regular workload on Saturday. Singleton has been excellent to start this season, racking up 408 yards and three touchdowns across four games while averaging a robust 7.7 yards per carry.

DNP Wednesday
Singleton (undisclosed) did not practice with the team on Wednesday, though head coach James Franklin indicated that Singleton is still expected to play Saturday's game against UCL...
Impact
Franklin indicated that Singleton's absence wasn't caused by anything serious and shouldn't affect his availability moving forward, though the situation will likely be worth monitoring throughout the week. The junior running back has had a productive start to the season as part of Penn State's two-headed monster in the backfield alongside Kaytron Allen, running for 408 yards and three touchdowns through the team's first four games and averaging an exceptional 7.7 YPC. Should he miss Saturday's game, Allen would likely be in for a significant workload against the Bruins.

Scores another TD in win
Singleton notched 16 carries for 94 yards and one touchdown and gathered in all two targets for 25 yards during Saturday's 21-7 victory versus Illinois.
Impact
Singleton continued to roll under new offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki. The 226-pound speedster didn't notch any home-run plays like he did over the past two games, but he remained efficient while seeing a season-high 16 carries and his third rushing score of the season. This still fell behind fellow junior running back Kaytron Allen, who logged 18 carries for 102 yards and a touchdown. With Singleton and Allen continuing to split carries, they'll likely need the Nittany Lions to heavily rely on the running game moving forward through Big Ten play. They should both have an easy time during next week's home game versus UCLA, which has been one of the conference's worst teams so far this season.

Catches TD in blowout win
Singleton had 11 rushes for 81 yards and reeled in two targets for 22 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 56-0 victory over Kent State.
Impact
Singleton continued to roll in the Nittany Lions' new and improved explosive offense. The junior running back got onto the board early with his second receiving touchdown of the season, catching a short dump-off pass from tight end Tyler Warren before walking in for a 17-yard score in the second quarter. Singleton has now eclipsed 100 yards from scrimmage in all three games to go along with four total touchdowns so far this season. He and Kaytron Allen are still splitting duties out of the backfield, as the former also logged 11 carries for 66 yards Saturday. Penn State will face its first Big Ten opponent of the season this coming Saturday versus Illinois.

Scores twice in second half Week 2
Singleton accrued 13 carries for 119 yards and one touchdown and gathered in their only target for 14 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 34-27 win against Bowling Green.
Impact
Singleton scored his second and third touchdowns of the season as he helped carry the Nittany Lions to a comeback victory in the second half Saturday. Penn State took back the lead when quarterback Drew Allar found his running back on a seam route over the middle for a 14-yard touchdown in the third quarter. Singleton then rushed for a 41-yard breakaway touchdown late in the fourth quarter, marking his second 40-plus-yard touchdown run in as many weeks. The 226-pound running back's unique size and explosiveness likely makes him the most irreplacebale piece of Penn State's offense. However, he's somewhat risky as a fantasy proposition, as he continued to split carries with fellow junior running back Kaytron Allen (14 carries, 101 rushing yards). Both running backs should have a chance to wrack up fantasy points when their team next plays verus Ken State on Saturday, September 21.

Pops long score Saturday
Singleton had 13 carries for 114 yards and one touchdown and gathered in their only target for 13 yards during Saturday's 34-12 victory over West Virginia.
Impact
Singleton looked like his old explosive self with two 40-yard rushes Week 1, including a dash to the end zone to put Penn State up 27-6 early in the third quarter. The 226-pound speedster also recorded just his second 100-yard rushing performance since his breakout freshman campaign. After running behind a shoddy offensive line last season, the junior tailback had multiple chances to explode for long gains on well-blocked running plays Saturday, as things looked all-around much easier for this unit in the first game under new offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki. After Week 1, Singleton appears primed to be one of the biggest beneficiaries of this revamped offensive play calling in Penn State.

Kept in check again
Singleton had 13 carries for 43 yards and hauled in his only target for six yards during Saturday's 24-15 loss to Michigan.
Impact
Singleton was once again stymied by an opposing defense. The sophomore running back has not benefitted while rushing in a Nittany Lions offense that completely lacks explosion, as he's now failed to rush for over 50 yards in each of the last four games. Singleton has also averaged just 3.9 yards per carry over ten games, so it's hard to imagine his production will improve much, if at all, over the final two games of the regular season.

Logs season low yards in win
Singleton notched eight rushes for 20 yards during Saturday's 51-15 win versus Maryland.
Impact
Singleton was held to season lows in both touches and total yards, and he also went without a catch for just the second time this season. The true sophomore running back seemed to play second fiddle to Kaytron Allen, who logged team highs in rushing attempts (14) and yards (91). These two have repeatedly split carries throughout the season, but Singleton has accumulated fewer rushing yards (480) than Allen (573) through nine games. Penn State's lack of explosion in the rushing game will likely continue to curb the fantasy production of these two so long as they continue to split carries moving forward. Singleton's rushing efficiency doesn't figure to see much of a boost while facing Michigan's elite defense in Happy Valley this coming Saturday.

ROTOWIRE
Scores in tight win
Singleton recorded 15 rushes for 50 yards and one touchdown and reeled in five of seven targets for 31 yards during Saturday's 33-24 victory over Indiana.
Impact
Singleton worked his way back up to double-digit carries after logging just nine during last week's loss to Ohio State. The sophomore running back also logged a season-high in targets, though he still finished behind fellow sophomore Kaytron Allen in terms of carries (18) and rushing yards (81). However, both still logged the exact same number of touches, and Singleton tallied the team's lone rushing score. Singleton leads the Nittany Lions in total touchdowns this season with eight, but he's only logged one score over the last three games. He and Allen should continue to split duties out of the backfield versus Maryland in Week 10.
