Scottre Humphrey - Another quiet day Humphrey tallied three rushes for eight yards and reeled in his only target for six yards during Saturday's 41-25 defeat against Boise State.
Impact Humphrey saw his role decrease again Saturday, as he's now been outcarried 18-to-9 by Damon Bankston over his last two games. After logging 28 carries for 174 yards in his first two games this season, Humphrey's been limited to just 107 yards on 28 carries in his last four contests.

Keagan Johnson - Hauls in late score Johnson reeled in 5 of 13 targets for 38 yards and a touchdown during Saturday's 41-25 defeat to Boise State.
Impact While Johnson saw double-digit carries for the second straight game, the senior wideout failed to get much going until he eventually salvaged his day with a four-yard touchdown late in the final quarter. When healthy, Johnson has proven to be one of New Mexico's primary weapons on offense. He's totaled 29 receptions (on 45 targets) for 346 yards and two touchdowns across five games this season.
OCTOBER 13, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Dorian Thomas - Leading receiver vs. Boise State Thomas hauled in 4 of 5 targets for 61 yards and a touchdown during Saturday's 41-25 defeat against Boise State.
Impact Thomas finished the day as the Lobos' leading receiver while hauling in his fourth touchdown reception. The sophomore tight end continues to be one of New Mexico's more reliable options in the passing game. Thomas is up to 348 yards on 32 receptions through six contests this season.
OCTOBER 13, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Damon Bankston - Leads backfield again in loss Bankston accrued nine carries for 18 yards and reeled in two targets for 52 yards during Saturday's 41-25 loss versus Boise State.
Impact While it was a quiet day overall for New Mexico's offense, Bankston provided a bright spot with his performance as a receiver out of the backfield, while also leading the team with nine carries. The senior running back has at least 11 touches in each of his last four games, as he's worked his way into a timeshare with Scottre Humphrey. Overall, Bankston's totaled 507 all-purpose yards with four touchdowns through six games this season.
OCTOBER 13, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Jack Layne - Struggles in loss Layne was 7-for-17 passing for 115 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions during Saturday's 41-25 defeat against Boise State.
Impact It was a tough day for Layne, who completed a season-worst 41.2 percent of his passes while turning the ball over three times before eventually conceding work to backup James Laubstein late in the contest. Layne has now thrown five interceptions in his last two games and eight overall this season. He'll look to rebound next week when the Lobos host Nevada.

Michael Buckley - Won't play Saturday Buckley is out for Saturday's game against Boise State, Sean Reider of the Albuquerque Journal reports.
Impact Buckley suffered an injury last week versus San Jose State that will force him to miss some time. It's unclear how long he's expected to be absent, however. His next chance to suit up will come next Saturday against Nevada.

Boise State vs. New Mexico Prediction, Odds, Picks - October 11, 2025
Dorian Thomas - Four grabs in loss Thomas reeled in 4 of 7 targets for 40 yards during Friday's 35-28 loss against San Jose State.
Impact Thomas continues to see steady volume in New Mexico's offense, logging seven or more targets in four of his five games. Overall, the sophomore tight end has logged 28 receptions for 287 yards and three touchdowns this season.
OCTOBER 5, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Keagan Johnson - Sees 14 targets Friday Johnson caught 11 of 14 targets for 145 yards during Friday's 35-28 defeat to San Jose State.
Impact Johnson was a major focal point of the Lobos' offense Friday, as he ultimately led the team in all major receiving categories, with no other wideout logging more than four receptions. After he was limited by an injury earlier in the year, Johnson has now topped 100 yards in back-to-back games, totaling 16 receptions (on 21 targets) for 262 yards and a touchdown in that span.
OCTOBER 5, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Scottre Humphrey - Held in check Friday Humphrey accrued six rushes for 10 yards and a touchdown during Friday's 35-28 loss against San Jose State.
Impact While Humphrey was able to punch in a one-yard touchdown in the second quarter, the junior was largely an afterthought in the loss as he split work with Damon Bankston before New Mexico shifted to a pass-heavy attack. Through five games, Humphrey has rushed for 273 yards with four touchdowns on 53 attempts.
OCTOBER 5, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Damon Bankston - Leading rusher in loss Bankston posted nine carries for 51 yards and a touchdown and gathered in two targets for 15 yards during Friday's 35-28 defeat to San Jose State.
Impact New Mexico went with a pass-heavy game plan Friday, though Bankston would wind up leading the team in yards and carries while punching in his third touchdown. The senior Bankston should continue to see a split role with Scottre Humphrey in the Lobos' backfield.
OCTOBER 5, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Jack Layne - Throws three picks in loss Layne completed 28 of 40 passes for 344 yards and three interceptions during Friday's 35-28 defeat against San Jose State. He also had seven rushes for negative one yard with a tou...
Impact While it wasn't an awful performance overall from Layne, as he completed 70 percent of his throws, his three interceptions proved to be the difference in New Mexico's one-score loss. Still, Layne has thrown for more than 300 yards in back-to-back outings while completing 73.3 percent of his passes over his last three games. Layne and the Lobos will take on Boise State next week.

Federal Panel Dismisses NCAA Appeal of Vanderbilt QB Diego Pavia's injunction
Marcus Vinson - Not on injury report Vinson (undisclosed) is not on the injury report ahead of Friday's game against San Jose State.
Impact The return of Vinson will add depth to the tight end position. However, he won't add a lot of fantasy value since he's buried on the depth chart and isn't likely to see consistent playing time.

San Jose State vs. New Mexico Prediction, Odds, Picks - October 3, 2025
Damon Bankston - Quiet in win Bankston recorded nine rushes for 38 yards and caught 2 of 3 targets for eight yards during Saturday's 38-20 victory versus New Mexico State.
Impact After breaking out for 203 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns in Week 3, Bankston found himself in more of a complementary role Saturday, with the return of Scottre Humphrey. Bankston, a senior transfer from Weber State, does offer some big-play upside, but he'll likely be a boom-or-bust risk with Humphrey in the lineup.
SEPTEMBER 29, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Shawn Miller - Emerges in Week 5 Miller caught 4 of 6 targets for 80 yards and a touchdown during Saturday's 38-20 victory over New Mexico State.
Impact Miller found himself more involved in New Mexico's offense on Saturday after logging just one catch for 14 yards in his first three games this season. The junior would bring in his first collegiate touchdown, a 31-yard grab in the second quarter. Look for Miller to serve as the Lobos' number-two receiver, behind Keagan Johnson, going forward.
SEPTEMBER 29, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Dorian Thomas - Finds end zone in win Thomas totaled six receptions (on eight targets) for 79 yards and a touchdown during Saturday's 38-20 victory over New Mexico State.
Impact It was another productive outing for Thomas, who's seen eight or more targets in three of his four games this season. The sophomore would punctuate his day with a 24-yard touchdown, his first since scoring twice in Week 1, that put the Lobos ahead in the third quarter. Overall, Thomas has brought in 24 of 34 targets for 247 yards this season.
