Exits bowl game with injury Bean was removed in the second quarter of Monday's Myrtle Beach Bowl game against Appalachian State with an apparent injury, Brett Vito of the Denton Record-Chronicle reports.

Impact The nature of Bean's injury remains in question, but he was replaced by Kason Martin shortly after being leveled by an Appalachian State defender while he slid to the turf. Bean was expected to handle the bulk of the reps at quarterback with Austin Aune (undisclosed) not available for the Mean Green, but the team looks like it may have to cast its lot with Martin the rest of the way. Prior to departing, Bean completed five of eight attempts for 58 yards and added 10 yards on four carries.
