David Ellis - Returns to practice Wednesday
Ellis (lower leg) was spotted at practice on Wednesday, Matt Cohen of the IndyStar reports.
Impact
Ellis did not play in the opener against Iowa due to a lower leg injury. He appears to be trending in the right direction for a possible return to the lineup on Saturday against Idaho.

Jack Tuttle - Sees field in relief
Tuttle (shoulder) went 0-for-2 Saturday against Iowa.
Impact
Tuttle ended last season with a hurt shoulder but was ready for the opener, albeit in limited time as Michael Penix drew the start. Now healthy, Tuttle projects as the backup for the Hoosiers.

Miles Marshall - Only catches one ball in loss
Marshall reigned in one of five targets for 21 yards in the 34-6 loss against Iowa on Saturday.
Impact
The junior receiver was wildly inefficient, only catching 20 percent of his targets. The Indiana passing attack was completely off the whole game so it may be best to just reset and hold judgement and see how Marshall fairs against a lesser opponent next week.

Peyton Hendershot - Three catches in blowout loss
Hendershot caught three passes for 26 yards in Saturday's 34-6 loss against Iowa.
Impact
The big-bodied tight end was Indiana's second leading receiver, showing that besides for Ty Fryfogle, there wasn't much yardage being gained by Indiana's pass catchers. Nonetheless it was good to see the senior tight end being used as one of the top options in the passing game.

Ty Fryfogle - Over 80 yards in opener
Fryfogle caught five of eight targets for 84 yards in the 34-6 loss against Iowa on Saturday.
Impact
Indiana's number one wideout was about the only good thing on the field in the blowout loss as he still looked as good as he did last season during his breakout year. The 5th-year senior was last year's Big Ten wide receiver of the year and he should be able to explode for some huge performances down the line.

Tim Baldwin - Stymied in Iowa
Baldwin carried the ball six times for 12 yards in the 34-6 loss against Iowa on Saturday.
Impact
The sophomore was beaten out for the starting job by Stephen Carr and it appears that means we will have a minimal role with the team barring an injury.

ROTOWIRE
Stephen Carr - Average day in debut
Carr rushed the ball 19 times for 57 yards in the 34-6 loss against Iowa on Saturday.
Impact
The USC transfer has claimed the starting job evidenced by the fact he was given the lion's share of the carries on Saturday. Unfortunately he didn't do a whole lot with them, averaging a sub-par three yards per carry. However, As long as Carr can keep up his workload he should break out for bigger games against lesser defenses than that of the Hawkeyes.

ROTOWIRE
Michael Penix - Three turnovers in loss
Penix completed 14 passes for 156 yards in the 34-6 loss against Iowa on Saturday. He also threw three interceptions.
Impact
Penix looked extremely uncomfortable against the talented Iowa secondary who made him pay all game. The Indiana quarterback will have to improve his decision making before being trusted in fantasy lineups.

David Ellis - Absent from warmups
Ellis (lower leg) isn't on the field for warmups ahead of Saturday's season opener versus Iowa, Dustin Dopirak of The Athletic reports.
Impact
Ellis is expected to be involved as a utility knife on offense this season when healthy, handling some carries in addition to working as a receiver often. Unfortunately, a late injury leaves him presumably unavailable, taking some tools out of the playbook.
