Jeremy Fears Jr. - Quietly enjoying impressive year Fears totaled 14 points (5-12 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five assists, one block and two steals over 32 minutes during Tuesday's 68-52 victory over Oregon.

Impact If it weren't for Purdue's Braden Smith, Fears could very well be looking at first-team all-conference honors, as his 8.4 apg average is second in the country (trailing only Smith). Still, he remains the primary point guard for a Michigan State squad that's off to a 17-2 start to the year, and MSU's only two losses (Duke and Nebraska) have a combined 35-1 record so far. In addition to the team success, Fears is posting career-highs in scoring (13.2 ppg) and rebounding (2.5 rpg). Now in his third year with the program and showing tremendous improvement each go-around, Fears is living proof that player development still exists in high-major college basketball.

Impact Fort's nine points were his most since Dec. 29; this performance looks like an outlier. Since moving to the bench in early December, the senior guard has been largely quiet for the Spartans. His 14 minutes were the most he's played since Michigan State resumed conference play. Fort should remain mainly an afterthought in East Lansing despite the strong outing Tuesday.

Coen Carr - All over the court in win Carr notched 15 points (6-9 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 0-3 FT), eight rebounds, three assists and two blocks across 28 minutes during Tuesday's 68-52 victory over Oregon.

Impact Carr was efficient as a shooter, strong as a rebounder and solid elsewhere with three assists and two blocks. What's more, the forward isn't known as a distance shooter, but he drilled three triples against the Ducks, setting a new season-high in that department. Carr doesn't always light up the stat sheet to this degree; he was coming off three straight games in which he scored in single digits. Still, the junior is an explosive talent for the Spartans, and he's liable for bigger nights like this every time Michigan State takes the court.
