Looking good in win
Omoruyi notched 17 points (8-13 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-1 FT), seven rebounds, two assists, three blocks and two steals across 28 minutes during Thursday's 88-50 win over Sacred Heart.
Impact
Omoruyi hasn't had to play major minutes early in the season but is still close to averaging a double-double. If he can improve his percentages from the free throw line as he's made just two in five attempts, Omoruyi will be even better in his second season as a regular starter.

Already in form
Omoruyi had 19 points (8-13 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-4 FT), nine rebounds, two assists and two blocks across 31 minutes in Sunday's 78-65 exhibition victory over Fairfield.
Impact
Omoruyi took a major statistical leap last season for the Scarlet Knights, as he went from being a sparingly-used reserve to posting 11.9 points and 7.8 rebounds while starting in all 32 of his appearances. The Big Ten features plenty of skilled and experienced big men, making Omoruyi an under-the-radar fantasy option in 2022-23.

Omoruyi converted 66.7 percent of his field-goal attempts while leading the Scarlet Knights on the boards during Friday's Big Ten Tournament matchup, but the team was unable to advance to the semifinal round. He's posted double-digit scoring totals in all but two of his appearances since the start of February and has averaged 14.2 points and 7.1 rebounds in 31.0 minutes per game during that time.

Approaches double-double in win
Omoruyi closed with eight points (3-6 FG, 2-5 FT), nine rebounds and four blocks over 33 minutes during Saturday's 63-61 victory over Nebraska.
Impact
Omoruyi came close to picking up a double-double in Saturday's narrow victory, but he was ultimately unable to post double figures in any category. The sophomore has now been held to single-digit scoring totals in four of the last five games, and he's averaged 7.2 points and 10.6 rebounds in 28.2 minutes per contest during that time.

Dominant on boards
Omoruyi amassed seven points (3-9 FG, 1-3 FT), 14 rebounds, three blocks and two steals across 26 minutes during Wednesday's 48-46 win over Iowa.
Impact
Omoruyi was held to single figures in the scoring column for a second consecutive game Wednesday since he converted just 33.3 percent of his attempts from the floor. However, the sophomore brought in a season-high 14 rebounds and has now logged at least 10 boards in five of the last six games. During that time, he's averaged 9.7 points and 10.3 rebounds in 27.0 minutes per contest. He did take a scary fall in the second half and needed to be tended to by team trainers, but the lower-leg issue seemed to resolve itself quickly, and Omoruyi was back in the contest minutes afterwards.

Omoruyi produced 19 points (9-12 FG, 1-1 FT) and 12 rebounds over 20 minutes during Saturday's 79-48 win over Central Connecticut State.

Nearly records double-double
Omoruyi contributed 14 points (5-7 FG, 4-6 FT), nine rebounds, three blocks and two steals in 34 minutes during Monday's 53-51 loss to Lafayette.
Impact
Omoruyi was quite efficient from the floor in Monday's loss and led the Scarlet Knights on the scoreboard in spite of a modest shot volume. Although he paced the team on the boards, he came one rebound short of his third career double-double. However, the sophomore has scored in double figures in four of the first five games of the season and has averaged 11.4 points and 7.6 rebounds in 26.8 minutes per contest.

Paces Rutgers on boards
Omoruyi finished with 11 points (3-6 FG, 5-6 FT), 13 rebounds and one block in 32 minutes during Saturday's 48-35 win over Merrimack.
Impact
Omoruyi didn't have many looks from the floor in Saturday's low-scoring win, but he still scored in double figures while posting his first double-double of the year. After averaging just 3.8 points and 4.0 rebounds in 15.0 minutes per game last year, the sophomore has taken on a much larger role early in the 2021-22 season.

ROTOWIRE
Nears double-double in win
Omoruyi had 16 points (7-13 FG, 2-3 FT), nine rebounds and one assist across 24 minutes during Wednesday's 73-70 OT win over Lehigh.
Impact
Omoruyi served as a starter in Wednesday's opener after coming mainly off the bench during his freshman year, and he led the Scarlet Knights in scoring and rebounds while coming within one board of a double-double. The 6-11 center appears to be in line for an increase in production this year after he averaged 3.8 points and 4.0 rebounds in 15.0 minutes per game during the 2020-21 campaign.

Omoruyi (knee) has been able to do some limited work in practice according to coach Steve Pikiell, Jerry Carino of the Asbury Park Press reports.
Impact
As of now, Omoruyi is just doing drills with the team, but has not been able to do five-on-five yet. It's sounding like he might still be a little bit away, so we'll wait and see if he is able to suit up on Friday against Wisconsin.

ROTOWIRE
Not expected to practice
Omoruyi (knee) isn't expected to take the floor during practice Thursday, Jerry Carino of the Asbury Park Press reports.
Impact
Omoruyi continues to tend to a knee issue that has kept him on the sidelines for the last pair of games. It's unclear exactly how severe the knee issue is, but it's something that can compound for a big man if not given proper time, so Omoruyi will likely be given all he needs. If he can't play again Saturday versus Iowa, look for junior big man Myles Johnson to be tasked with holding Nasmith candidate Luka Garza in check.

Impact
Omoruyi has been unable to practice due to a sprained knee. Coach Pikiell said that Omoruyi will need to have a few practices before he can play in a game, which will rule him out for Tuesday's contest against Purdue. Saturday's contest against Iowa seems like a longshot as well at this point.

Omoruyi (knee) is not practicing at all, Zach Braziller of the New York Post reports.
Impact
Omoruyi suffered a knee sprain on Sunday against Illinois and hasn't been able to do practice of any kind yet. It's looking like he will not play again in 2021, but he doesn't have a timetable for a return. Rutgers has been beat up with injuries this season.
