Cowboys face Colts without 3 starters because of injuries, including Pickens
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The Dallas Cowboys deactivated three injured starters, including receiver George Pickens, before facing the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.
Pickens had been listed with shoulder and hamstring injuries this week. Pickens is second on Dallas (3-5) with 39 receptions and 533 yards and also has two touchdown catches.
Cornerback Joey Porter Jr. and linebacker DeMarvion Overshown also are inactive. Porter has an ankle injury while Overshown has back and hamstring injuries.
All of the Colts players rumored to be on the trading block — running back Jonathan Taylor, quarterback Daniel Jones or receivers Josh Downs and Keenan Allen — are active and are expected to have their usual workload against the Cowboys.
The trade deadline is Tuesday afternoon.
Indy (2-6) already has made two trades and fired general manager Chris Ballard over the past three weeks.
Indy is missing three key defensive players — cornerback Justin Walley, safety A.J. Haulcy and linebacker Akeem Davis-Gaither. All three are injured.
