RB LJ Martin sidelined for No. 10 BYU at TCU after apparent injury in first half
FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — BYU running back LJ Martin was out of the No. 10 Cougars' game at TCU after suffering an apparent injury Saturday night.
Martin, who came in averaging 109.3 yards rushing per game, had only two carries for 16 yards. He had consecutive carries, for 11 and then 5 yards, with about 5 minutes left in the first quarter. It wasn't immediately clear what his specific injury was, but ESPN reported on its broadcast that Martin wouldn't return in the second half.
The Cougars had only 101 total yards in the first half and were tied 7-7.
Martin last season was the AP Big 12 offensive player of the year, when he was the league's leading rusher with 1,305 yards and also had 12 touchdowns.
Cougars starting linebacker Isaiah Glasker was also injured before halftime.
