Brosmer's 3 touchdown passes lead New Hampshire to 38-31 win over Albany
DURHAM, N.H. (AP) — Max Brosmer threw three touchdown passes, the last a 6-yarder to Colby Ramshaw midway through the fourth quarter, and New Hampshire rallied to defeat Albany 38-31 on Saturday.
Brevin Easton caught a 38-yard touchdown pass from Reese Poffenbarger, giving Albany a 24-14 lead early in the third quarter. UNH rallied, scoring 17 consecutive points on Dylan Laube's 5-yard run, a short Nick Mazzie field goal and Brosmer's 53-yard pass to Logan Tomlinson.
The Wildcats (3-3, 1-2 Coastal Athletic Association) took a 31-24 lead into the fourth quarter. Poffenbarger tied it for the Great Danes (4-3, 2-1) with a 32-yard pass to Julian Hicks.
After an exchange of punts, Brosmer drove the Wildcats 57 yards in 10 plays to the go-ahead score with 7:08 remaining. Poffenbarger was sacked twice on Albany's next possession and he was intercepted by Brendan Tighe on a long pass to the end zone on the Great Danes' final drive.
Brosmer completed 29 of 49 passes for 342 yards, with the three touchdowns and an interception. Tomlinson had two touchdowns on nine receptions for 144 yards and Laube gained 85 yards on the ground.
Poffenbarger was 23-of-39 passing for 376 yards with four touchdowns and two interceptions. He had two 100-yard receivers in Hicks (4 catches, 162 yards, 2 TDs) and Brevin Easton (4 for 106, 2 TDs). The Great Danes were held to 41 yards rushing, which included 46 yards lost on five sacks.
