Northwestern State takes down Nicholls State 68-48

NATCHITOCHES, La. (AP) — Jalen Hampton's 18 points helped Northwestern State defeat Nicholls State 68-48 on Saturday night.

Hampton added five rebounds for the Demons (9-7, 1-2 Southland Conference). Demarcus Sharp scored 13 points and added four steals. Isaac Haney recorded 12 points and shot 3 for 4 (3 for 3 from 3-point range) and 3 of 4 from the free throw line. The Demons snapped a five-game slide.

Latrell Jones led the Colonels (7-8, 2-1) in scoring, finishing with 12 points and two blocks. Nicholls State also got 10 points, two steals and three blocks from Caleb Huffman. Emanuel Littles also put up six points.

NEXT UP

Both teams next play Thursday. Northwestern State hosts McNeese and Nicholls State visits Lamar.
