Houpt scores 17 in William & Mary's 75-56 win over American

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (AP) — Sean Houpt's 17 points helped William & Mary defeat American 75-56 on Thursday night.

Houpt shot 4 for 7 (4 for 6 from 3-point range) and 5 of 6 from the free throw line for the Tribe (2-0). Gabe Dorsey scored 14 points and added nine rebounds. Trey Moss went 6 of 11 from the field to finish with 14 points.

Jermaine Ballisager Webb led the way for the Eagles (0-2) with 12 points. Matt Mayock added eight points for American.
