Hepa puts up 29 as Hawaii defeats Cal Poly 69-56
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. (AP) — Kamaka Hepa scored 29 points as Hawaii beat Cal Poly 69-56 on Saturday night.
Hepa also added six rebounds for the Rainbow Warriors (17-7, 8-4 Big West Conference). Samuta Avea scored 18 points, shooting 5 for 11 (2 for 5 from 3-point range) and 6 of 6 from the free throw line. JoVon McClanahan finished 3 of 11 from the field to finish with nine points, while adding five rebounds and six assists.
Alimamy Koroma finished with 17 points for the Mustangs (7-17, 1-11). Cal Poly also got 12 points and two steals from Brantly Stevenson. Kobe Sanders also had 10 points and two blocks. The Mustangs extended their losing streak to 11 straight.
NEXT UP
Hawaii next plays Friday against UCSD at home, and Cal Poly will visit UC Irvine on Thursday.
