Harris scores 18 as SMU defeats Lamar 78-67
DALLAS (AP) — Chuck Harris had 18 points in SMU's 78-67 win against Lamar on Thursday night.
Harris was 4 of 9 shooting, including 1 for 4 from 3-point range, and went 9 for 9 from the line for the Mustangs (3-0). Tyreek Smith added 13 points while shooting 3 of 4 from the field and 7 for 9 from the line, and he also had seven rebounds and four blocks. Emory Lanier had 11 points and was 3 of 5 shooting (3 for 4 from 3-point range).
Cody Pennebaker led the way for the Cardinals (1-1) with 13 points and seven rebounds. Chris Pryor added 10 points for Lamar. Ja'Sean Jackson also put up nine points and two steals.
NEXT UP
Both teams next play Tuesday. SMU hosts Texas A&M and Lamar plays UTSA at home.
