Oziyah Sellers - Scores 21 points Thursday Sellers chipped in 21 points (7-11 FG, 5-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds and one steal over 25 minutes during Thursday's 95-70 win over VMI.

Impact Sellers drained five of his seven attempts from beyond the arc en route to a dominant performance. The star guard should remain one of the Mustangs' go-to scoring options every time he steps on the hardwood.

Jaylin Stewart - Sits out opener Stewart (undisclosed) didn't play in SMU's season-opening win over Southern.

Impact It's unclear why the UConn transfer didn't play for the Mustangs, but SMU went five deep into its bench and he wasn't a part of the rotation. Stewart could be dealing with an injury or otherwise, but at this juncture, he's a question mark for SMU's tilt with VMI on Thursday.

Jacob Patrick - Used during exhibition Patrick (undisclosed) logged zero points (0-1 FG, 0-1 3Pt) and three rebounds across three minutes during Sunday's preseason loss to Texas A&M.

Impact Unfortunately for Patrick, choosing to enroll at a Conference Power team despite his injury history likely meant he had to rework his way back up, and Sunday's game backs up that notion. He is relatively proven though, having averaged 2.0 three-pointers made in his Division I career thus far.

Oziyah Sellers - Eligible to play in 2026-27 Sellers (not injury related) has been granted temporary eligibility ahead of the 2026-27 season, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.

Impact Sellers is one of the many players who have received clearance to play in the 2026-27 season, although that's temporary since the NCAA is likely to appeal in the coming days. If Sellers is eligible, he should be a key player in the Mustangs' backcourt. The senior, who played for St. John's in 2025-26, averaged 10.3 ppg last season.
