Durugordon scores 36 points and makes 16 straight free throws to lead Siena past Niagara 93-88
LEWISTON, N.Y. (AP) — Sean Durugordon had 36 points and 12 rebounds and Siena scored 60 points in the second half to beat Niagara 93-88 on Monday, ending an eight-game losing streak.
Durugordon broke the program's 61-year record for most made free throws (16) in a game without a miss. The previous mark was 15 by Frank Ryan on Dec. 4, 1963.
Michael Eley scored 18 points while shooting 8 for 14, including 1 for 3 from beyond the arc, and added five rebounds for the Saints (3-13, 2-3 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference). Killian Gribben shot 4 of 6 from the field and 4 for 4 from the line to finish with 13 points.
Ahmad Henderson II led the way for the Purple Eagles (7-9, 3-3) with 29 points and two steals. Luke Bumbalough added 15 points and seven assists for Niagara. In addition, Kwane Marble II finished with 12 points.
