Chattanooga beats Wofford 75-57, advances to semis of SoCon tourney
ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) — Demetrius Davis scored 19 points off the bench to lead Chattanooga to a 75-57 victory over Wofford on Saturday night in the quarterfinals of the Southern Conference Tournament.
Third-seeded Chattanooga advances to play No. 7 seed East Tennessee State in Sunday's semifinal round. The Buccaneers upset No. 2 seed UNC Greensboro 73-62 in an earlier quarterfinal.
Davis shot 7 for 8 (4 for 5 from 3-point range) and 1 of 3 from the free-throw line for the Mocs (21-11). Jan Zidek added 13 points and five rebounds. Honor Huff scored 12.
Corey Tripp finished with 15 points to lead the Terriers (17-15). Jeremy Lorenz added 12 points. Kyler Filewich contributed nine points, eight rebounds and four assists.
