Brantley's 20 lead La Salle past George Washington 80-70
WASHINGTON (AP) — Khalil Brantley scored 20 points as La Salle beat George Washington 80-70 on Saturday night.
Brantley also had eight rebounds and three steals for the Explorers (11-9, 2-5 Atlantic 10 Conference). Tunde Vahlberg Fasasi scored 19 points while shooting 6 for 8 (4 for 5 from 3-point range) and 3 of 3 from the free-throw line, and added six rebounds and three blocks. Jhamir Brickus had 19 points and shot 6 for 14 (2 for 5 from 3-point range) and 5 of 7 from the free-throw line.
Darren Buchanan Jr. finished with 24 points, 12 rebounds and two steals for the Revolutionaries (14-6, 3-4). George Washington also got 17 points and four assists from James Bishop. In addition, Jacoi Hutchinson had 10 points and three steals.
La Salle took the lead with 6:36 to go in the first half and did not relinquish it. The score was 37-33 at halftime, with Brantley racking up 11 points. Brickus' 15-point second half helped La Salle finish off the 10-point victory.
