Marcus Rashford's fleet-footed goal highlights United's FA Cup victory

There hasn't been much for Manchester United fans to cheer for in this, by their standards, lost season. Marcus Rashford, however, has proven to be a welcomed silver lining for the Red Devils.

His fancy goal against West Ham highlighted Wednesday's FA Cup quarterfinal replay, sending United through to Wembley to face Everton in the semis.

After a deadlocked 0-0 first half, a Michail Antonio blunder gifted United possession in the attacking third. Anthony Martial collected the ball and fed Rashford, who did the rest. The youngster drove at the West Ham defense, split two players, and flicked a seeing-eye shot into the top corner.

Unless Manchester City fall completely flat in league play, the FA Cup remains the last substantial prize Man United can capture this season. Rashford efforts in his club's 2-1 victory could go a long way toward the Red Devils' hopes of salvaging the season.

But it probably won't salvage manager Louis van Gaal's job.
