Capps scores 21, SE Louisiana beats Northwestern St. 86-62 (Feb 24, 2018)

NATCHITOCHES, La. (AP) Jordan Capps scored 21 points and Southeastern Louisiana rolled to an 86-62 victory over Northwestern State on Saturday night for its sixth straight win.

Southeastern Louisiana (19-10, 13-3 Southland Conference) is in sole possession of second place with Stephen F. Austin's loss to Lamar. The Lions are a game back of conference leader Nicholls (14-2) and conclude their season next week hosting the Colonels.

Capps was 9 of 13 from the field. Brandon Gonzalez added 15 points for the Lions, who shot 63 percent (32 of 51) from the field and 56 percent from long range. Joshua Filmore made three of the Lions' 10 3-pointers and Marlain Veal had seven of their 21 assists. Filmore and Veal finished with nine points apiece.

Larry Owens had 10 points to lead Northwestern State (4-23, 1-15).
