John Ludvig - Not expected to playLudvig (illness) is not expected to be in the lineup for Tuesday's game versus the Devils, Matt Vensel of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
ImpactVensel reports the Penguins are projected to use the same lineup that they had Monday versus the Rangers, which would mean a second straight absence for Ludvig. The 23-year-old defenseman was a game-time call, so it seems likely he'll be ready to play by Thursday's game versus the Capitals, though he's no lock to be in the lineup.

John Ludvig - Game-time call versus New JerseyLudvig (illness) will be a game-time decision for Tuesday's matchup with the Devils, Penguins play-by-play announcer Josh Getzoff reports.
ImpactConsidering coach Mike Sullivan firmly ruled out Tristan Jarry, who is also dealing with an illness, there seems to be a chance Ludvig is healthy enough to play Tuesday. In 33 games this season, the 23-year-old Ludvig has generated just three goals and two assists but has delivered 72 hits and 33 blocks. If Ludvig does play, it would likely mean a return to the press box for Ryan Shea or Jack St. Ivany.

Tristan Jarry - Remains out TuesdayJarry (illness) will not be available against the Devils on Tuesday, Penguins play-by-play announcer Josh Getzoff reports.
ImpactWithout Jarry in the lineup, the team called up Joel Blomqvist to serve as the backup to Alex Nedeljkovic, who will be making his sixth straight start. At this point, with Jarry having just one win in his last eight appearances, the Penguins may continue to roll with Nedeljkovic down the stretch -- at least as long as their is a glimmer of hope for securing a wild-card spot.

Alex Nedeljkovic - Starting again TuesdayNedeljkovic will tend the twine on the road against New Jersey on Tuesday, Matt Vensel of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
ImpactNedeljkovic will take both ends of the Penguins' back-to-back due to the absence of Tristan Jarry (illness). The 28-year-old Nedlejkovic was solid in the first game Monday, stopping 28 of 30 shots in a winning effort versus the Rangers. It will be the sixth consecutive start for Nedeljkovic, having gone undefeated in regulation in the previous five outings (3-0-2).

Sam Poulin - Sent back to minorsPoulin was reassigned to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Tuesday.
ImpactPoulin needed to be sent back to the minors in order to free up the necessary cap space to bring up Joel Blomqvist in light of Tristan Jarry's (illness) potential absence. If the Pens can get either Jarry back or one of their two injured defenseman, it could clear the way for Poulin to be called back up ahead of Thursday's tilt with Washington.

Joel Blomqvist - Added to NHL rosterBlomqvist has been added to the Penguins' roster Tuesday, per the NHL media site.
ImpactBlomqvist addition to the roster could be an indication that Tristan Jarry (illness) once again won't be available against New Jersey on Tueesday. The Penguins didn't carry a second netmidner on the roster versus the Rangers on Monday but will at least have Blomqvist available if needed.

Brandon Scanlin - Returned to minorsScanlin was reassigned to AHL Hartford on Tuesday.
ImpactScanlin's demotion would seem to be a good indication that Erik Gustafsson (upper body) will be ready to return to action versus the Devils on Wednesday. For his part, the 24-year-old Scanlin appeared in one NHL game back on March 26 in which he saw 10:46 of ice time and recorded one hit.
