News: Klein may play on the top power-play unit Tuesday against the Jets, reports Andrew Gross of The Record.
Impact: With Dan Boyle struggling to start the season, head coach Alain Vigneault wants to give rookie bruiser Dylan McIlrath a chance to crack the lineup, leaving an opening on the team's power play. If and when Boyle dresses again, as long as Klein has a positive impact on the 12th-ranked power play in the NHL, he could retain the extra minutes. Considering that Klein's goal production has pleasantly increased since his arrival on Broadway, it seems like a sensible move that could moderately increase his fantasy value. If you have a hole on the blue line, he could be worth a gamble.

News: Klein had a goal in Wednesday's 3-2 season-opening win over Chicago.
Impact: After he posted career highs in both goals and points last season, it's not exactly surprising to see Klein get on the scorer's sheet in his first game of the campaign. That's good news for the Rangers, who are reportedly shopping Klein and his cap hit to make room for Dylan McIlrath. While the 30-year-old's production is currently hampered by his third-pairing assignment, it's not cemented there, and he should be monitored as a depth defenseman in deeper formats.
