News: Davis is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Cardinals.
Impact: This is just a standard day off for Davis, and it's no coincidence that it comes against Lance Lynn, against whom Davis is 1-for-12 for his career. Gerardo Parra will get the start in left field and bat sixth and Davis should be back in the lineup in the near future.
Rotowire: Apr 14 / 9:06a ET
News: Davis is batting .269/.345/.385 with three doubles and one RBI through seven games this season.
Impact: Davis has yet to homer, but he has done a great job hitting to the opposite field and getting on base. He has split his at-bats between the five and six spots in the batting order, so he should have ample opportunities to increase his RBI count.
Rotowire: Mar 25 / 10:39a ET
News: Davis is 13-for-33 (.394) with six doubles and eight RBI through 13 exhibition games.
Impact: Davis has not homered this spring, but that does not hide the fact he is making good contact. He is expected to share the left field duties with Gerardo Parra in some fashion this season, but after starting 131 games there in 2014, Davis is the favorite to open the campaign as the regular at the position. Davis' defense will never match Parra's, but he is the superior hitter of the two, so he figures to get his opportunities as long as he is hitting.
