Ryan Lavarnway - Won't make Opening Day rosterThe Tigers informed Lavarnway on Monday that he won't be included on the Opening Day roster, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
ImpactLavarnway will remain a participant in big-league camp for the next few days before joining Triple-A Toledo on Friday as the affiliate prepares for the start of the minor-league season. He'll likely be the No. 4 option on the Tigers' organization depth chart at catcher behind Tucker Barnhart, Eric Haase and Dustin Garneau.

Ramón Rosso - Loses out on roster spotThe Tigers reassigned Rosso to their minor-league camp Monday.
ImpactDetroit cut Rosso and Wily Peralta to reduce their group of players at big-league camp to 40, after neither pitcher had reported to camp while awaiting work visas, according to Evan Woodbery of MLive.com. As a reliever, Rosso won't need much time to build up once the visa issue is resolved and he arrives in the United States, but he'll likely be sidelined for the start of Triple-A Toledo's season.

Wily Peralta - Assigned to minor-league campPeralta was reassigned to minor-league camp on Monday.
ImpactPeralta remains stuck outside the United States due to visa issues, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports, preventing him from converting his camp invitation to an Opening Day roster spot. Once he eventually arrives, he'll start or make his case for a call-up, but he'll presumably still have to go through a typical spring buildup process, so he probably won't make the team right away.

Ramón Urías - Hitting well in springUrias is hitting .500 through five Grapefruit League games.
ImpactUrias has flexed some power as well, posting three home runs and a double with four RBI and six runs scored. The Orioles' infield plans remain a bit muddied -- Urias is in contention for a starting job, but it's unclear if that will be at shortstop or third base. Richie Martin, Jorge Mateo and Kelvin Gutierrez are all also hitting well so far, as the competition for playing time seems to have brought out the best in all of them.

Bruce Zimmermann - In line to pitch WednesdayZimmermann (illness) is scheduled to pitch Wednesday versus the Rays, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
ImpactZimmermann was forced out of his last appearance after two innings while dealing with a stomach bug. He appears to have put the illness behind him and will likely try to stretch out a bit more in Wednesday's outing.
