Reds GM Walt Jocketty said Friday that Votto (quadriceps) is "doing great" with his offseason rehab work, MLB.com reports.
Strength and conditioning coach Sean Marohn has been keeping tabs on Votto's progress as he continues his rehab in his hometown of Toronto, and the reports have been positive. A distal strain of the quadriceps near Votto's left knee limited the 31-year-old to just 62 games in 2014, and while he progressed to taking batting practice, fielding grounders and running the bases near the end of the year, the Reds decided to hold him out with an eye toward 2015. He has nine years and $206 million remaining on his contract.
