Lester has agreed to a six-year, $155 million deal with the Cubs, Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports reports.
The Red Sox reportedly offered a six-year, $135 million deal, but the left-hander will reunite with former Boston general manager Theo Epstein on the north side of Chicago and head up the rebuilding Cubs' rotation. According to Passan, the Giants were also finalists in the bidding, which would have been a deal at approximately $168 million over seven years.
