Wolves recall Payne from D-League

Adreian Payne is headed back to Minneapolis.

The Minnesota Timberwolves announced Monday that they have recalled the former first-round pick from the NBA D-League's Erie BayHawks.

Payne made three appearances for the BayHawks, averaging 26.3 points, 9.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game.

In 30 appearances for the Timberwolves this season Payne has averaged 2.7 points, 2.0 rebounds and just 9.5 minutes per game.

The Timberwolves return to action on Tuesday, when they head to Los Angeles to take on the Lakers.
