Vikings receiver B&#246hringer 'like a little kid' in first meeting with Peterson

German wide receiver Moritz B&#246hringer met his new teammate and football idol Adrian Peterson while walking through the Minnesota Vikings' weight room this past week.

He didn't get the firm handshake for which he'd been preparing.

"It was more like a little shoulder hug," said Peterson, who is known for his bone-crushing handshake. "I said 'wassup' to him, and he was kind of like a little kid. He was like really shy."

B&#246hringer last month became the first European player drafted into the NFL without playing college football. He said at the time that he first got interested in football by watching videos of Peterson online.

The 22-year-old played in the German Football League this past season, catching 59 passes for 1,232 yards and 13 touchdowns in 16 games. He ran a 4.43-second 40-yard dash at his pro day this spring.

The Vikings selected B&#246hringer with the 180th pick in the sixth round of the NFL Draft.
